You know you are relaxing when ...

For me, it is when I am enjoying the SECOND cup / glass of something. If I have time for a coffee cup refill in the morning ... when I get to the second glass of wine on a Friday evening ... when there is a second part to a meal because we have made time for a starter or a rare dessert.

And when I am in my pjs, early in the evening / after 8 in the morning - simple luxuries!

What makes you know you are in the zone?

When my husband and I have been out to lunch so I am not cooking dinner, having a cuppa and reading the paper then looking forward to my favourite tv programmes later on.....!

Sitting in front of the fire with the wind howling outside and TV not on.
A day at home with no plans, just odd jobs and fluffing about.

I agree with you W11girl especially about the craft work being relaxing, except crochet, I'm trying to learn but I can't get my head around that.

Humbertbear I should feel more relaxed if I had been able to leave the house. Yesterday I spent bird watching and walking in the beautiful countryside near where I live, very relaxing.

Sitting in the firelight, just watching the flickering and listening to the crackling...

No idea how this arrived here. I was looking him up because he is the tutor for the course I start tomorrow, but how that transferred itself to a Gransnet post defeats me.

Having done the "household stuff in the morning"..2pm everyday (except Thursdays/Fridays (working) ....sitting on the sofa, reading or watching something on catchup tv or practising on the piano or some craftwork... soooo relaxing......never stressed.

Sunday morning reading the papers, doing the crosswords & sudoku.

Any day when I don't need to go out, can just potter around & do things when I want to.

Coffee after Lunch & watching an old episode of Heartbeat

Told you it wouldn't last! Anyone want to help me sand down a door? ☹️

I'm with you star lily and willa knowing I haven't to walk to work in snow is a great feeling although I do feel for those that have to?⛄️

newnanny Tue 03-Oct-17 14:10:08

On holiday......when day after day blends into stress free bliss and you lose track of how many days you have left and with every day sunny and lazing on beach and eating out.

Waking up in the morning to find I haven't needed to be up three or more times through the night to dash to the toilet for yet another wee.

willa45 Tue 03-Oct-17 13:20:38

During a really bad (traffic stopping) snowstorm, sitting by the fire with a good book and an unopened box of chocolates on my lap!

angie95 Tue 03-Oct-17 13:12:46

When the TV is off, the cats are asleep and the only sound is the ticking of the clock as I sit and read. Sigh ..

Greyduster Tue 03-Oct-17 13:03:06

Just as I am now, in the conservatory, in perfect quiet, ensconced in my decrepit recliner with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake and the whole afternoon ahead with nothing to do (that won't last!hmm).

grandMattie Tue 03-Oct-17 12:48:31

Feet up, cuppa tea, TV on some "gastroporn" and knitting away...

Diddy1 Tue 03-Oct-17 12:39:57

Having a lie in without being disturbed by DH shouting "are you going to be there all day"
Then looking forward to reading GN, thats relaxing!

Kim19 Tue 03-Oct-17 12:22:30

A day when nothing is planned other than a luxurious lunch or a meeting with my children or grandchildren.

kittylester Tue 03-Oct-17 10:21:35

Watching catchup TV in the afternoon.

Reading in the afternoon.

Pjs straight after dinner.

If I am found doing any of the above I'm either relaxed or ill!

blueberry1 Tue 03-Oct-17 10:10:32

Reading a good book with the dog snuggled up against my leg on the sofa and a cup of Earl Grey or even a vodka on the coffee table.
