We’re rapidly approaching our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. I’d like to get my DH a present, but apart from reprinting some wedding photos with personalised song lyrics,I’m stuck. I’d be grateful for any suggestions.

I had a painting done for my DH on our Ruby Wedding and I also had one done for my parent's Golden Wedding. Theirs was a scene of where they used to live in Yorkshire and my DH's was a Lowry-style featuring all thenames of our children and grandchildren on shop fronts etc. There was even a wedding party at the church dressed as we had been at our wedding.

Would something similar be any good?

Both artists were amateurs who I was put in touch with by the local art group leader

It is possible to have photos professionally transferred to DVD so they are presented in almost movie fashion.
You could have the photos of your life together (including the wedding) made into "movie magic".

We treated ourselves to a "Gift of time" a beautiful half size chiming grandfather clock...........and it is a lovely lasting momento that we look and hear daily.

Could this be worthy of considering?

Does your DH wear cufflinks. If so you could get him a pair with small rubies in.
Or how about an overnight stay in a hotel with a special meal or visit to the theatre?

I was going to suggest a gold tie pin with rubies somewhere about it. My DH inherited one with a little fox head with ruby eyes.

I bought mine whisky ,21 year old Royal Salute in a ruby red ceramic flacon and some 40 year old red wine ,He collects nice whisky and he wouldn't want "things" as we're trying to declutter already .

I booked a weekend away for our ruby wedding.
gaga what a lovely idea for your DH and so personal. I'm sure it will become a family heirloom.
DH bought me some earings set with rubies. Sadly I've only worn them once in 3 yrs as they are really fiddly to put in.

You might like to read the suggestions on this previous similar thread. I was going to mention the cartoon picture.

What about a book about the history of the town in which he was born or brought up in. You could write a loving message inside it.

A trip to the theatre and a meal out perhaps. Weekend away or a Spa day. Depends on his personality.
