Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey /dull start here in Brackley this morning.
Anyway, my mystery weekend , I had it all wrong, it was Eastbourne.
The hotel was close to the pier,
Got there after a stop at Cobham of the M25, where we ere given are intinary.
Browsed a little around Eastbourne , and see the changes which are going on.
Caught the bus to Hastings on Sunday for a few hours before returning to Eastbourne .
Left yesterday in cooler weather.

Good Morning everyone. I am late today although I was up at 8am as usual. I've been stripping beds and doing laundry and getting a bag ready for the charity shop.

It's the St George's day parade through our little town today. The RA regiment is stationed nearby and they parade through with their regimental band. The Mayor takes the salute, school children and residents of the many rest homes take pride of place in front of the crowds. The veterans of the Korean and other wars parade too and they, along with the soldiers are presented with a red rose. It's a wonderful and moving event. I shall meet up with several WI chums and we shall cheer and clap with the rest of the crowd.

Sorry to hear of the poorly ones. There's always something for somebody, as the saying goes. Hope you all improve rapidly. flowers

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'm later today. I slept badly. I think I was affected by the heat yesterday. I was working at the community garden and got talking to visitors walking through.
Back to normal after Easter with plenty of catching up to do.
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Eastbourne for Easter Mick is quite poetic.
I was last there in 1966 and listened to the world cup final on the radio on the beach!

Good morning from a sunny Aberdeenshire, but there is a chilly wind with haar on the horizon.
The mutt is in a mega huff after his smart groom yesterday...he smells like a rose and is desperate to find something revolting to roll in.
While he was being titivated, I went to M&S to find some cotton trousers. O my God! Shoot their designers...I didn't think their clothes could get any worse, but they are dire. The quality of the fabrics and finishing have slid off the scale of nastiness and even the assistants said I was not alone in my thinking. Rant over, feel better now.
The bird feeders are filled, the pheasants fed and the mutt has had his breakfast so it's away to the woods to find some mates to play with.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning, late again after a very disturbed night.
DH back to daily hospital appointments after the Easter break.
DD flew home first thing this morning but GC are still off school, one until tomorrow and the other has another week.
Only one sure way to sort cold sores and that is Zovirax at the first sign of a tingle. DH has suffered since he was a baby but they have reduced in severity since using it regularly.
Best wishes to all who are under the weather.

Good morning all.

It's rather dull at the moment, but looks to be brightening up slowly. I think today is meant to be the last day of the warmer weather for a while. Still, we were very lucky to have such a lovely Easter weekend.

Meeting some friends for lunch later then when I get back, I've got a bit of sorting out to do.

Hope you feel better soon, Kitty, and that your cold sore soon goes away Greyduster.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip, Mick.

Have a nice day today if you can, everyone. ?

Good morning from east London, where it’s cloudy but bright. May even risk my shorts again today. So it’s back to reality after my 2 short breaks; apparently there’s a very sad dog in Northumberland. Today my DD is 30 so will see her later for dinner. By a strange coincidence we have an appointment this afternoon at the register office to amend her and DS’s birth certificates following our marriage last year. (It is a legal requirement). Have a good day.

Good morning all, hazy here in Devon but promise of some sun later. Not much planned for today, bed stripped & washing on. Lunch ready in fridge but need to plan Dinner. Maybe go into Town & get some new Library books (finished a very good one in the early hours of the morninggrin) & pick up a bit of shopping.

Another late good morning, not as nice as it has been, and I feel absolutely dreadful, not sure what is wrong, but have a long awaited hearing test this afternoon, so must feel better, hope the world stops spinning.
Michael Eastbourne is an old haunt of ours, they had the most fantastic fish and chip shop there, run by Italians with a "Mama" who appeared to rule the roost. Those were the days.
A good weekend, all round, pity I feel so poorly. Never mind, the gardener is here, and my coffee is getting cold.

winifred01 Tue 23-Apr-19 11:49:58

Italian fish and chip shop is still there, great!

Greyduster if you are still about, gin in large quantities will definitely do the trick. ? I have only had gin once is my life when I was about 17. My legs went from under me and felt like jelly. NEVER AGAIN.

Oldgaijin I love to hear the daily happenings of your mutt.

I had it all wrong, it was Eastbourne
Good Evening Mick; That was hard luck!. I remember the Major intervening in a discussion amongst the guests at "Fawlty "Towers" about how bad the hotel was and him saying "No! I disagree. There's an even worse one in Eastbourne" Hope you didn't cop that one! grin

And how many beige cardis did you spot? Not as many as in B'mouth I would imagine.!

Glad you survived the week-end high jinks! OoRoo

Just a warning to those that have cold sores you can spread it by touching it and then touching somewhere else. I have spread it to both my eyelids by using a tissue then wiping my eyes. Best treatment is zoverax from the chemist and there's also ophthalmic zoverax on prescription for the eyes. Sadly no cure yet and it recurs but sunlight can trigger it too
