Good Morning Everyone,
Its a clear blue sky start here in Brackley , looks like we had some rain overnight but very little.
Quiet day in , chiropodist this morning, then lazy watch Tour De France , depending on how the race develops will alter my plans but do not intend to go out if its going to be to hot and unfordable.

We had terrific lightning from 12:30 am in North Wiltshire It was relentless like a strobe light show. Really scary. 2 very short bursts of heavy rain but thunder only came later. DH had foresight to unplug all our electronic devices from their sockets as we lost all our equipment many years ago living in Berkshire. Storm moved across town to where DD2 lives. Sadly house next door to her was hit and whole close’s devices have been taken out.

Gramaretto ?

Morning everyone. Woken by the heavy rain at 2 30am. The storm wasn't too bad here. Sun is just showing its face here. Not sure what l will do today. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all, cracking thunderstorms last night, loud thunder, fork lightening & rain, feels a bit fresher here in Devon, sun & white clouds, 21C with promise of 25C. Had to close door into my Lounge & windows at that side of house due to our Park Owner carrying out a repair on a water pipe which has been leaking for over 2 weeks, he did know but has resisted doing the repair until he was getting lots of irate phone calls from residents. We pay him Ground Rent but he's reluctant to do any workhmm.

Day at home, hoping to get out into the garden if it's not too noisy/smelly can't stand smell of hot tarmac

Good morning,
It's a warm sunny morning again after last nights terrific thunderstorm and heavy rain around 2 am. I think we are in for another humid day though, the storm hasn't cooled the air much.
A quick bit of cleaning shortly before it gets too hot, then a lazy day ahead.
Keep well hydrated everyone. ?

Justme67 Wed 24-Jul-19 09:36:03

Good morning to you all, and again it is really hot, and because I can, I am going to do absolutely nothing today, except sit and read/sew and enjoy my salad lunch. The cleaner is coming, but there is little for her to do, so will just get her to clean out a cupboard for me, and move some crockery around, not to strenuous to make her too hot. Enjoy your days everyone, and keep the fluids handy.

Good morning Mick and everyone and especially to those who are coping with bad news.

It's already 25C outside even though we had a spectacular thunderstorm in the night with a heavy downpour. Nothing much planned for today - I thought a trip to the coast and/or lunch out would be nice and perhaps a bit cooler but DH has a meeting right in the middle of the day which he'd forgotten about until this morning.
I don't like the heat or humidity either Pittcity, perhaps Tesco's freezer section might be worth a visit!

EllanVannin Wed 24-Jul-19 09:28:45

Good Morning All x
Quite hot right now but no wall to wall sunshine as there is cloud about. Whether there was a storm here last night I don't know because I was completely deado after yesterdays full day with GGC-----3 of them and not the two as promised.

One of the older ones who has ADHD did a runner but there was nothing I could do and I wasn't going to run after her either, but she'd managed to run the couple of miles or so home. A very difficult child and not one I'd like to have too often, being unpredictable.
I was up and down like a fiddlers elbow with all three. The carpets are covered in dried grass so I'll have to get stuck in with the hoover before the heat takes over.

Don't overdo things everyone and have a jug of iced water at the ready as hydration's more important than food when it's like this, but have a good day whatever you all do.

Good morning everyone,
Blue skies here in Suffolk after a night of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Have managed to get as much housework done as possible nice and early before it gets too hot ?. Off to visit my DSis later. Have a lovely day all x

Good morning from the NE coast . What a night ! Spectacular thunder and lightening flashing right across the sea ! Heavy rain but so very warm it was impossible to sleep. Felt like a zombie when it was time to get up and now running late. Off to “that place” for another fun filled day wink

Have a good Wednesday everyone x

Good morning from 26 degrees already in Colchester. We had two loud, bright storms in the night which increased the humidity. It's now bright sunshine and will reach well over 30 today.
I do not do well in heat and humidity and so shall be semi hibernating until the weekend apart from nipping to Lidl to partake of the air conditioning!

Good morning from Cooler ne. I'm off today as it's my dear mums birthday no cards to send as we list her in in march.we are going to the crem to put some flowers down and off for a lunch together just my sis and me. No doubt we will reminisce of times gone by. Have a good one all.

Nanagem Wed 24-Jul-19 08:36:15

Very warm here( Cambridge), 25 already in the garden. Very loud storms in the night, the elephant of a dog insisting the only safe place was on top of me !.

Spending lazy day today, want to finish towels I’m weaving.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 24-Jul-19 08:32:28

Morning all from a bright South Notts. Woken by thunder and lightning at around 2 am - I usually sleep through.
I feel it's going to be hot and sticky again.
A nice lunch yesterday after the dentist which wasn't as bad as I'd dreaded. I have a four month gap before I need to go again.
Sorry about the difficult news, Gramma.
Hope all is well with you all.

Morning All

A couple of wonderful storms here overnight which soaked the garden nicely. The clouds are only just clearing and the sun is bringing the temperature up fast. Our outside thermometer showed 34 for a while yesterday (in the shade!).

We’ve been on holiday in the Wirral for the last couple of weeks (with virtually no internet). Not been there before. What a wonderful part of the country, I’m so pleased it wasn’t this hot.

Hairdresser this morning and then retreating to a cool dark room again!

Auntieflo Wed 24-Jul-19 08:16:30

Morning Michael, Annie to come and all. I was woken just before 1am by terrific lightening and deafening thunder. It rolled around, went away and came back. I had left washing on the line, so it will have had an extra rinse.
To Marydoll, Grammaretto, Bellasnana, {{{hugs}}}. BlueSapphire, good news from BG, with a refund .
To one and all, have a good day.

Ginny42 Wed 24-Jul-19 08:05:52

Grammaretto thinking of you. x

harrigran Wed 24-Jul-19 08:05:33

Good morning from an overcast NE.
We had lightning at 3am and again at 3.40, rain at 4.00 on the dot.I did not wake up we just saw the lightning on CCTV recording, when storms are forecast I sleep with earplugs and an eye mask as I can usually sleep through it.
I spent all of yesterday reading in the garden but it times it was a tad blowy for the parasol.

Ginny42 Wed 24-Jul-19 08:02:26

Good morning Mick. Hope you enjoyed your trip. Spectacular thunderstorm with very heavy rain overnight Everywhere looks fresher and the hydrangeas look amazing this morning.

My wrens have two young in the nest now and their tiny little mouths are constantly open for feeding except when sleeping. So tiny you wonder how they could survive.

Taking GS to Conway to explore the castle. Have a good day everyone.

Brunette10 Wed 24-Jul-19 07:59:36

Grammaretto - so sorry about your difficult news yesterday and yes carry on as best you can.

Lins1066 Wed 24-Jul-19 07:48:23

Good Morning Mick and everyone. Very warm here already on Bristol Channel coast. Took ages to get to sleep last night, and still in bed with a cuppa.

Grammaretto, so sorry to read that you had difficult news.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day, we have nothing planned but may go out later.

Hope your dog is ok Bellasnana.

dragonfly46 Wed 24-Jul-19 07:44:57

Good morning from a sunny Leicestershire. We had a spectacular storm at 2.30 this morning with sheet lightening, thunder and torrential rain. I rather fear my pretty windmill is broken!

Sorry to hear you had bad news yesterday Grammaretto.

Going to large M&S today to get fitted for post op bra but will no doubt buy the DGC clothes. I cannot resist.

Have a good day every one.

kittylester Wed 24-Jul-19 07:43:33

Morning all from a very sticky North Leicestershire despite a massive storm in the night.

School run in Derby this afternoon then back to school to watch dgd in the end of year play.

Good morning all. It is hot and sunny, as usual, here in Malta. Seems it is hot weather for everyone at the moment.?

I had a dreadful night. Couldn’t get to sleep for worrying about various problems, then, when I finally did go off to sleep, I was rudely awakened at 2.35a.m. by the dog, who was being sick by the back door. Couldn’t face dealing with it at that hour, but neither could I get back to sleep. Feel like a zombie now, so I sympathise with others in the same predicament.

My friend returns to Chester today so there will be a drive to the airport later on, otherwise no plans of any note.

Have a good day, all, and keep safe in the sun.sunshine
