Hello all,

Just back from a shopping dash to make sure we have sufficient meals for the week, and I have discovered that I walked around the supermarket with the remains of a large black arrow on my forehead! Humph!

EllanVannin Sun 29-Sep-19 12:38:34

Hahahaha. Black arrow ? How ?

Done yesterday at the hospital, to show which eye was to be done, thought it had been wiped off, but apparently not entirely!

Aren't they unbelievable! Reminds me of when we had an important appointment - as we got out of the car and started walking towards the office DH asked if I had meant to wear my slippers! Fortunately they looked like normal slip on shoes and were not the fluffy kind!

At least you can be reassured they got the right eye.

Hope all went well.

Isn’t it nice to know our DHs pay so much attention to us? Mine would have done the same. How are you Mrs P? Did all go well?

phoenix Sun 29-Sep-19 13:15:42

All went pretty well, Gonegirl and Nfk thank you. Rather sore today, but bearable.

Oldwoman grin

Mr P is not the most observant of chaps, I remember years ago on holiday in Italy him "helping" me to search the apartment for my glasses before we went out for dinner. I had clipped them on the front of my dress!

I wouldn't have minded so much of I hadn't emerged from the bedroom and said to him "how do I look?" Just proved that he hadn't really looked at all!

Sorry but I laughed and yes it would happen here. Once had one of those inside out events. Why would anyone wait until we were out in town to tell me they had noticed when we were at home that my top was inside out??? Sounds as if you could navigate the shop ok today phoenix, how was yesterday? Hope all went well without trauma.

Grammaretto Sun 29-Sep-19 13:15:57

I hope all went well?
Perhaps he thought it was important to leave in place? So when you go for your check up, they'll know which eye.
I am with him on this. Did anyone at the shop notice?
My DH leaves hospital wrist band ID labels on for ages.

Doodle Sun 29-Sep-19 13:25:16

Glad all went well phoenix . grin

Hello all, and thanks for the responses!

As the post ok check isn't for 6 weeks, I don't really think I need to have an arrow on my head for that long!

Got home yesterday about 4.30, the anaesthetic drops were starting to wear off, so took paracetamol. Had to keep the eye shield on until this morning

Pretty painful first thing, and very light sensitive . Dug out a pair of Jackie O type sunglasses for supermarket trip, who helped with the light thing, but meant I couldn't read labels.

Me "Are these ordinary sausages, or the caramalised onion ones?"

Mr P "Not sure, I didn't bring my glasses, but I think they are the ordinary ones"

Me (^sotto voce^) Give me strength!

However, now already improved! (My eyes, sadly not Mr P)

phoenix Sun 29-Sep-19 14:40:27

"Which" not "who" Damn auto correct! (Definitely wasn't getting help from beyond the grave, especially from Jackie!)

NfkDumpling Mon 30-Sep-19 07:14:38

I hope the pain is less today Phoenix. I've met people who've had it done and they've just shrugged it off in a "of course it went well and of course I can see" sort of way. So I would guess recovery is pretty fast. I hope Mr P is looking after you well now.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 30-Sep-19 07:43:12

Phoenix hope your eye is improving x

I think Mr.P and Mr.Gravy mist have been separated at birth!!

Auntieflo Mon 30-Sep-19 07:53:58

Glad to hear that you and your eye survived the surgery Phoenix.
I think there are a tribe of likeminded Mr P's wandering this earth smile as I have a clone here.

Calendargirl Mon 30-Sep-19 08:08:37

DH usually points out AFTER we have returned from shopping that I have some dried toothpaste corner of mouth, having walked round town and chatted to people etc.

annodomini Mon 30-Sep-19 09:21:18

Phoenix, I'm pleased that the op went well and hope that today it's more comfortable and that it turned out that you got the right kind of sausages.
Take care of yourself - we need you here in good form!

Witzend Mon 30-Sep-19 12:25:59

I've often thought that my dh honestly wouldn't notice if I went out topless with my nipples painted green.

Bathsheba Mon 30-Sep-19 12:56:31

Ooh please come and report back to us if you ever try it Witzend. With photos, obviously grin

Phoenix thanks for the giggle! Glad your op went well, and hope you're feeling a lot more comfortable now.

dragonfly46 Mon 30-Sep-19 12:59:28

Pleased the op went well Phoenix do you now feel lopsided or do you not need the other one doing?
