Poor lady

Once again the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing!
It would certainly have been known that the surgeon was on a course probably several weeks ago - unless he isn't actually on a course......................
Sorry, but in a place where I used to work, the "on a course" excuse was used just about for anytime that a professional member of staff didn't turn up !
Do hope that your friend's daughter gets her op, certainly before Christmas.

Thankfully, for DD, who turned up for an operation to find the session had been cancelled, as well as forgetting to let he rknow the hospital forgot to tell the surgeon, who said, two patients have turned up, I have turned up they will have their operations - and they did.

But for someone in pain that is very wrong. When they do that they should be entitled to the operation within the week.

Good news it's rescheduled for 5th Dec.

Oh, that warrants a complaint to the hospital board. It's dreadful.

MOnica - that surgeon is definitely one of the good guys!

This happened to my DH in 2012, when his back surgery was cancelled on the day as the surgeon's wife was very ill. We were told that because the cancellation happened on the day, they would have to do the operation within three weeks, and it did happen. Glad it's happened for your DH.

This is the sort of thing I was talking about in my thread a week or so ago. It should not happen. So sorry to read it.

I have had many infuriating experiences with our NHS!

However on a very positive note my husband saw our GP on the 12 November with a dodgy mole, it had all the signs of melanoma.
He saw a dermatologist on 25 November and had it removed the same afternoon.

We are awaiting the results and naturally apprehensive but the speed and efficiency we have experienced from the NHS has instilled confidence.

I had a boss who was frequently on a course on a Friday afternoon - a golf course.
