viagra advert-lighthearted observation

There are some adverts that stand the test of time. I particularly like the specs savers one where a shepherd with poor sight shears his dog! But some really really pee me off

Top of my list this week is the Viagra advert. There's something about the smug, bearded man in short PJ's, AND SOCKS, dancing down the stairs into the waiting arms of his implausibly lovely wife/partner, well it grinds my gears. Surely the woman has better taste?

How many gransnetters out there fancy a chap who keeps his socks on while doing the deed? Or is it just me?

Mr P refuses to wear slippers, and often appears in his dressing gown and socks tchconfused in the morning, but absolutely doesn't wear them in bed!

phoenix, mr p sounds very respectful.

I don't like many adverts t.b.h. but agree the Specsavers ones are some of the best (who can forget the elderly couple getting on The Big One and blaming cheese sandwich?)

Also loved the Barclays (I think it was) to the tune of Let Your Love Flow - where the guy was on a massive water slide down buildings.

Most recent one surprising me is the M and S one to the tune of JUMP. I love that. I did love the Woolworths Christmas ones years ago.

As for anything else... well I tend to ignore or scroll through if recorded. I don't let them pee me off. smile

Hahahaha, noooo. Yuck!

Thank you petunia but I still think some sort of slippers would look better than the socks! I've suggested all sorts of styles, but he just wont consider them.

tedber- i also love the M+S one!

petunia ... I know ... he really gets on my nerves.
No wonder they had disappointment in the bedroom department if he wears his socks to bed.
Poor woman ... I should think more than chemical enhancements would be required ... a barefoot lover would be a good start and not necessarily the smug g*t she’s already got.

All that hair, head and face, would leave me wanting (something stronger than viagra).

petunia Sat 28-Dec-19 20:35:53

ha ha experience-a couple of stiff gins at least

GagaJo Sat 28-Dec-19 20:39:18

Oh, I dunno, I'm quite partial to a beard.

Defo no socks though. What's wrong with a nice pair of boxers and maybe a t-shirt?

I love that Goth one on a train in the Midlands (I think it’s for a credit score thing). “I thought you said your name was Raven?” I just love it! grin

The viagra one makes me laugh only because there’s a chap down the road who looks fairly similar!

LadyGracie Sat 28-Dec-19 20:58:01

grin reminds me my first experience with my then husband to be 50 years ago, he wore socks and his watch!

MamaCaz Sat 28-Dec-19 21:04:51

I didn't think that the Viagra advert was worth staying up for.

lemongrove Sat 28-Dec-19 21:08:15

tchgrin
He needs a stiff talking to about those socks.

My friend's BiL had an operation for bladder cancer at age 84.
One of the effects was loss of erection. He was offered viagra - they thought it was hilarious. He was glad to still be alive!

Tedber Sun 29-Dec-19 16:01:07

One of the effects was loss of erection. He was offered viagra

He'd be well advised to take it. Would stop him rolling out of bed in the middle of the night! sad

fancy a chap who keeps his socks on while doing the deed?

Or even his gloves! Never know what you might catch! shock

Where is your thread vinasol?

It's on the tv thread Tedber.

It's just for different ads we love or hate.

As I've never had a TV I'm not up with the ad game but my son sent me this a while ago and it always make me laugh - as does everything by Peter Kay.
