Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and looks like maybe fog lingering locally Here IN Brackley.
Still suffering with that bug, weighed myself this morning lost more again.
But I did go out on my usual bus journey to Buckingham and Bicester .
And id try to eat solid food , took lemslip last night which has eased slightly.
To make matters worse where I live they are having a painting programme with walls and doors being done, which may not help.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning all,

I'm late posting but have been up a while, pottering about doing different things.

It's trying to brighten up a bit here at the moment after a very dull, damp start. Such a contrast to the last few days. Although it's not especially cold, the damp makes it feel cold.

Saw my friend yesterday for a catch up after not seeing her since Christmas. We had plenty to catch up on.

Today, the ironing beckons and a bit of baking for my SiL's cuppa tonight. Otherwise, a fairly quiet day.

Those of you unwell, I hope you feel a bit brighter today, and gilly I'll cross everything that your DH gets an appointment sooner than Feb 24th and that your appointment comes through soon, too.

Take care, all.

Good morning all from a grey, uninspiring Devon. We've had 3 lovely frosty & sunny days, normal service is resumedhmm. Hospital appointment this afternoon, driving over to DD's as she lives 5 mins from Hospital, at least if we can't find a parking place she can drop me off & either go home or find one & find me, so much less stressful than going on my own.

Phone call from Council this morning, hopefully they'll approve my Grant for new roof, dread rain as I've got a leak in my bedroom, lovely black mould to add to my health problemshmm, I'm allergic to mould spores, feel like I've got a cold every morning when I wake up.

Things can only get better, nearly the end of January, days are lengthening, bulbs are coming upsmile

Good Morning to all from a dull and calm mid Notts. A late start for me this morning as DOH and I managed football last night so a late one by my usual standards!! I'm a huge footie fan and season ticket holder at my team but major surgery almost two years ago massively restricted my mobility. Followed by sepsis which I have honestly not recovered from means we can't always go and we have to plan it with military precision!! So a quiet day in store today - maybe try and finish knitting the cot blanket that I wish I had never started!! Special thoughts to all you poorly people x

A late good morning from the NE coast where we have a cold but bright start to Wednesday.

DH had a particularly bad night last night so I was on the phone first thing again to the consultants secretary . She has offered him a date of 24th February for surgery but has assured me that he will get the chance of any cancellation that may come up before then . I hope and pray that something does come up because he is in absolute agony, unable to sit or lie anywhere comfortable . Why oh why was this not done last year when it was supposed to be ? He is starting to lose weight again after making such good progress when he came home from hospital.

Still no referral for me and my nose and face pain lingers on. GP prescribed some more antibiotics and steroid spray but I feel like the spray goes into my face when I use it (I am convinced there is some kind of perforation of my sinuses caused by the dentist) tried explaining to the GP but he just shrugs as if to say “yeah yeah, whatever”. Grrrrr

Thinking about Scribbles on another thread and thinking how close DH came to being in the same situation. Frightening and very sad.

Can picture your little hedgepig Mommawolf how lucky that your clever Collie found him . smile

Loving the sound of the curries and stews being made, any chance of sending some over here?

Thinking of all those who have the dreaded lurgies hanging around them and hope they feel better very soon.

I’m off to “that bl**dy place” again when DH finally surfaces , then picking little Evie up so my DD can do a late shift .

Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Love Gillybob xx

A late good morning again from a foggy Northampton. I made myself lie in bed again this morning and go back to sleep, and when I did eventually wake up again I felt so warm and cosy that I could have stayed there all morning listenung to the radio! But then the lure of a cup of tea got me up, as no-one else is going to make one for me, so here I am, about two hours later than usual.

Feeling slightly better this morning, I think the hot toddies with Lemsip, honey and a wee dram may be helping!
Nothing much planned for today; tidy the bedroom and clean the bathroom. Shall give my health walk a miss again and stay in the warm.

Am a bit miffed as out of the blue the email app on my tablet has refused to let me access my mail, keeps saying my password is wrong although I know it isn't. My phone and laptop are fine, no problems there. So I have had to download the app again which seems to have gone well and I am in again, but the format is slightly different which I shall have to get used to. Ah well these things are sent to try us.

Best wishes to all fellow sufferers and hope everyone has the best day they can.

Good morning from a grey NE.
DH has the washer on so we will be at home today.
Lunch will have to be out of the freezer as we didn't get to the shops yesterday.
Another family member been diagnosed with a life limiting condition, getting to dread the phone ringing.
Have seen the news reports of the weather in Spain, they have had more snow than we have in the north of England.

Alygran Wed 22-Jan-20 09:08:29

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Back to great skies after a lovely day yesterday.
Housework this morning then a friend coming round for lunch. Making a chicken casserole.
Hope your DGS didn’t cheer too loud when city scored last night Greyduster.
Thinking of all those not feeling well.
Have a good day everyone.

Urmstongran Wed 22-Jan-20 08:59:52

Next week looks hot & sunny Marydoll!
☀️
I think we’ve just had the tail effect of Storm Gloria this week!

Susan56 Wed 22-Jan-20 08:55:05

Good morning from the Shropshire borders.Cold but bright start today.
I am having a catching up day today ready for resuming child care duties tomorrow.
Ellan, your saying about the fog horns on the Mersey reminded me of my childhood in Liverpool. When the river was busy in the sixties and seventies, the fog horns all sounding at New Year was quite something.I love where we live now but do miss Liverpool.
Sending get well wishes to all in the gransnet sick bay.
Hope your DH had a better night gilly and hope you have got your referral??

GrannySomerset Wed 22-Jan-20 08:43:21

Nannytopsy - I know its only machines but we do so depend on them that when they play up it becomes a major problem. Do hope things can be fixed quickly.

ninathenana Wed 22-Jan-20 08:43:20

Morning all.

What a change from yesterdays sunny frosty morning. Kent is currently grey and overcast.
May go to local shopping centre later if DD in mood.

Nannytopsy Wed 22-Jan-20 08:40:05

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s very misty and murky here in Suffolk. DH has gone off for an early appointment to have his leg ulcer dressed. After two years it was so nearly healed then got infected over Christmas. So sad for him as once again it is very painful.
The washing machine failed on Monday so a chap is coming this afternoon to empty it and hopefully mend it. Also having problems with the built in dishwasher which leaves everything dirty. ?
Ho hum! Hope today is kind to you all.

GrannySomerset Wed 22-Jan-20 08:39:35

Misty and grey this morning - the field beyond the garden has vanished completely. Waiting for the chiropodist shortly (must get on with getting DH up and ready) and then an early afternoon appointment for DH with the optician. He says he can’t see properly but can’t explain any more clearly so best looked at.

So sorry we have so many struggling. The end of January is always a help, and it’s not so far away now.

boheminan Wed 22-Jan-20 08:39:11

Good morning...Oxford calling! It's horrible here too, such a change from yesterday. I'll be biking into town again later, meeting a friend for a hot chocolate and chinwag. It's going to be a good day.

lavenderzen Wed 22-Jan-20 08:38:34

Good morning everyone.
Hope all have a good day and those who are poorly/worried start to feel better.

Auntieflo Wed 22-Jan-20 08:37:11

Good morning Michael, Annie to come, and all others. It is a slightly foggy view from our bedroom window, and looks a bit damp, but I am snug in bed with my first cup of tea.
How lovely Mommawolf to find a hedgehog. We haven't seen one for ages, and our little cairn used to get so excited when he found one.
Nothing planned for today, yet, but thoughts to all who are poorly , especially remembering Scribbles and the Gillybobs.

DoraMarr Wed 22-Jan-20 08:33:38

Good morning from a rather dreary Birmingham. I’m up and organised early for the builders, but the concierge said they are not coming until tomorrow, so I’m having another cup of tea. I’m going to an Arts Society meeting this morning, then returning some jeans and trying on some others. I’m on the search for the perfect pair: dark indigo, with no “whiskers” or fading, not too wide and not too narrow.
Best wishes to all who are under the weather or grieving.

Resurgam123 Wed 22-Jan-20 08:29:43

Good Morning All.
It is wet and foggy again here in Cheshire.

I was out in our small town yesterday and got a bargain. In a charity shop. A large very soft scarf in lovely colours described as "Cashmere"

It had elephants on it. It cost me nearly all of £3.
I do like a bargain.

Thank you Age UK .

Pittcity Wed 22-Jan-20 08:25:02

Good morning from a foggy Colchester. Hope it clears soon so that I can walk into town for our weekly coffee meetup without getting too damp.

Mommawolf Wed 22-Jan-20 08:18:55

Goodmorning all from a grey and soggy Norfolk. Not a breath of wind is spooky like this. Now off to hedgehog rescue centre. Collie went nuts when I let dogs out at bedtime. A tiny hog on the patio so cold and only weighing 200grms.it spent the night in box by kitchen range. Had expected it to be dead this morning, but is hanging in there. The centre have an incubator waiting for it. Silly creature!wishing all who are under the weather a speedy recovery. Spring is out there somewhere.

Pantglas2 Wed 22-Jan-20 08:18:06

Morning all from Malaga airport where I’ve driven down from the hills through horrendous torrential rain! I’m not sure weather here is going to be too kind for the rest of your stay Urmstongran but we had some gorgeous days didn’t we! hopefully will brighten up for your friends holiday Mary doll.

Can’t wait to get back to my Welsh nest and keep DH well until his op in two weeks- we’ll be avoiding folks like the plague if they have any lurgies which is most unlike me as I love seeing everyone when I get back.

Hope everyone in the sick bay is feeling better - I’ll send some of my restorative chicken broth over tomorrow to cure those who missed the cava the other day!

Marydoll Wed 22-Jan-20 08:04:08

Urmstongran, we have friends flying out to Benalmadena this week, in search of sunshine. I haven't mentioned your posts about the weather!

Mythbirtthedragon Wed 22-Jan-20 08:02:39

Good morning from east London, no frost today, looking grey with some mist. Tennis this morning so need to get moving soon; I think the dust from yesterday is still hanging around my lungs so I need a good run around to clear them out. Felt very well fed yesterday as I’d made a veg curry for our lunch to sustain ‘the workers’ and when we dropped DSD back home, her mum had made us soup and a veg pie in case we hadn’t eaten all day... Off to see DD and family later; I offered to take something for the evening meal which could be a bit of a mix up unless I go shopping. Hope you have a good day.

conor Wed 22-Jan-20 08:01:32
