Happy anniversary, scentia, sorry I missed your post. How lovely to receive an unexpected card. ?

harrigran Mon 10-Feb-20 08:06:45

Good morning from a very blustery NE. Just looked out and the moon is enormous and still very visible.
Yesterday afternoon we had thunder and lightning and torrential rain, thankfully we stayed at home.
We did not sustain any damage but someone posted a photo of a trampoline that was lifted into a treetop.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Clear skies but still blowing a gale here. The River Swale burst its banks yesterday afternoon causing a lot of flooding up in the dale and across the fields near my village. The main road into town is closed. I have appointments there this afternoon and evening so it will have to be a long drive round.
Congratulations Scentia. What a lovely thought from your DH.
Thinking of all those with struggles or who are unwell.
Stay warm and safe everyone.

Morning all from a bright and breezy South Notts.
Happy anniversary Scentia, how lovely to get a home made card. I would treasure that.
I plan a quiet day but need to see the plumber about a leaky radiator - it had to wait a few weeks after the annual service to misbehave, didn't it?
My nephew says he'll pop round later to see if he can help with the shed which was blown sideways yesterday. He'll need some mates with him I fear. The door is underneath so it can't be emptied to help. It may need a crane.
Hope things get better for those with worries or illness.

Good morning Mick and everyone. I was disappointed not to see the snow moon last night and actually went out at 2.30 a.m. but there were too many clouds here in Cheshire. It's still windy out there, but it's a blue sky now the moon has set.

Jobs at home day, writing up some minutes, dealing with phone calls etc; but as I'm out a lot this week I need to get some jobs done.

I spotted the nuisance poster and reported it also Marydoll. It was in a very sad thread of lovely member who is grieving to death of her husband. I was so angry! I hope it's gone before she logs on.

Congratulations Scentia.
Warm wishes to all who may be unwell at the moment. Hope gillybobs and dragonfly are feeling a lot better and the trip to the hospital goes well Marydoll.

Goodmorning all from a windy Norfolk the sun is out. A magnificent moonlit night last night. Just had a walk round with the dogs. A couple of trees down in the bottom meadow and one that just missed the hen house, lots of fire wood.some drainage issues around the alpaca enclosure need to be sorted. On the whole nothing we can't fix. Hope everyone is OK and safe. Have a good day.

cornergran Mon 10-Feb-20 08:25:40

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s cloudy and ‘normally’ windy in our corner of Somerset, High tide has seen waves overtopping again but as far as I know no flooding. Hope to be meeting a GN friend today, fingers crossed for our journeys. Going out sounds a good plan kitty. Happy anniversary scentia, hidden talents there. Hope dragonfly isn’t too uncomfortable, take care marydoll, have lost track of gillys posts, wishing her and her husband well. Take care everyone, special thoughts for anyone impacted by flooding, hope Monday is kind to us all.

Good Morning from Bristol, a wild day yesterday and a very wild night but all looks calm this morning with just a little wind .
Happy Anniversary Scentia
I hope everyone has a good day.

Marydoll Mon 10-Feb-20 08:46:20

After an hour of driving, got phone call in a traffic jam, cancelling my appointment. ?
The person I'm seeing is stuck in Amsterdam.
I wonder what he has been up to. ?

Auntieflo Mon 10-Feb-20 08:50:44

Good morning Michael, Annie to come and all others.
As far as I can see, we have had no storm damage, but we got very wet yesterday, just getting into and out of the car. The roads were swimming, but it doesn't take much for that to happen hereabouts.
Marydoll, take care in the snow, I know you said you had to go out for a hospital appointment.
Happy anniversary Scentia, what a lovely surprise to receive a handmade card.
Dragonfly, hope your arm gets sorted out quickly.
I hope the Gillybobs are OK, as I didn't read an update yesterday.
Earlier this morning, there was a beautiful full moon over the houses opposite, it's gone now, but I Wish I had taken a photo.
I have a friend coming latter for a good catch up over coffee, which may morph into lunch. It will be lovely to see her as she has been very poorly for weeks.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. The strong wind is set in here until tomorrow evening according to the forecast but it has blown the clouds away!
Walking Netball this morning.

gillybob Mon 10-Feb-20 09:02:17

Good morning from the North East coast where we have had another very windy night .

Apologies for going AWOL yesterday but I had little Evie over night on Saturday and all day yesterday . It was a horrible day and we only managed about 20 minutes of fresh air when I took her puddle jumping to the local shop....more for something to do than because we needed anything .

DH is as poorly as ever and spending more and more time in bed which seems to be the only place he can get any relief from the pain. Plus the painkillers he is taking are making him drowsy and grumpy too.

Another thrilling Monday means I am off to “that place” as soon as I can get DH sorted and downstairs which doesn’t look like any time soon .

Thinking of those feeling poorly or under the weather and hoping for some much needed sunshine soon.

Love Gillybob xx

Good morning from Staffs too Scentia-happy anniversary. Sorry to hear the sick list troubles.
Glad to hear Mumofmadboys had a good weekend in Glencoe-safe journey home!
Was receiving FB messages from my French Goddaughter yesterday; electricity down for a while. As here in Staffs too!
Looks a decent day now; hope everyone has as good a day as possible.

kittylester Mon 10-Feb-20 09:13:52

Sending you (hugs) gillybob.

I've just come back to report sleet in North Leicestershire!

GrannySomerset Mon 10-Feb-20 09:15:25

Like so many of us we had a very wild day and night but this morning all is calm and even quite bright. No obvious damage and even the back fence is still standing, which is more than might have been expected.

Admin day today and hoping that our many struggling GNers have a better day. Spring feels a long way off though I have just spotted the first daffodils in the garden.

moggie Mon 10-Feb-20 09:16:29

Good morning from bright & windy Nottingham.
Shops & ironing today.
Happy anniversary scentia flowers
Thoughts with gillybob, Dragonfly, Marydoll & all not well or struggling.
Have a good day everyone.

Beechnut Mon 10-Feb-20 09:20:25

Happy Anniversary Scentia. How lovely your DH made your first card.

conor Mon 10-Feb-20 09:22:20

Good morning from a sunny cold Essex. Looking outside it doesn't seem possible that the storm was here yesterday! My DGSs had a sleepover on Sat night and we were waiting for the storm. DGS1 was very disappointed that his football match was cancelled. Think we got away lightly in Essex and only had a few watering cans etc blown around. Was a bit worried to look outside but now relieved. A tidying and sorting day for me today and will stay warm at home. Hope everyone has a good day xxx

Nannytopsy Mon 10-Feb-20 09:29:14

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
It’s a beautiful morning here in Suffolk after last night‘s stunning full moon but still very blowy. Shopping and ironing today. We shall find out if there are any trees down.
Hope you got home safely from your wasted journey Marydoll.
Hope everyone has a good day

dragonfly46 Mon 10-Feb-20 09:30:53

Happy Anniversary Scentia. That is a card to be treasured.

How annoying Marydoll. It means you will have to do it all again when he gets back from the hotspots in Amsterdam.

So sorry your DH is suffering so badly Gilly. It must seem a long time until 24th.

Yes that was quite a hailstorm kitty!

I have rung the hospital and unless the lump gets hot and swollen they don’t seem too worried - Phew!

Kalu Mon 10-Feb-20 09:34:09

Good morning from Glasgow. A very heavy sky and it’s snowing here too Marydoll

Thankfully we left Perthshire yesterday before conditions worsened. Noticed a few speedy twits and motorists with no lights on. DH’s appointment was cancelled so we are staying put. Plan to watch last two episodes of The Stranger on Netflix a good series of suspense.

Pleased to hear your aches have gone Dragonfly just hoping your sore arm quickly shows signs of beginning to resolve on its own.

Best wishes to all and stay safe, preferably with no need to venture out. A better day to all who have struggles and illness to bear.

ann678tifney Mon 10-Feb-20 10:11:06

Morning all from a cold and drizzly NE. Managed to get home all right Saturday night, rain just starting, and glad we got home when we did as we would have been very wet, and yesterday it rained off and on all day. Hope everyone who isn't feeling well gets better soon.

Feelingmyage55 Mon 10-Feb-20 10:17:08

Snowing here in the north of Scotland. I have just cancelled going out for lunch. Tomorrow is another day. Going to have a clear out of clothes I never wear as I have decide to admit I will not be slim again. This is definitely a broth day - soup is such a comfort food. marydoll What a disappointment. You need coffee and cake. gillybob You deserve a medal and your DH deserves his operation. Have the best day you can everyone.
