I heard on the radio this morning that every Boots branch will have a safe room and trained staff to assist anyone who is seeking to report domestic or other abuse. Just ask the pharmacist to speak privately.
Hopefully this will be publicised so we are all aware this exists.

I saw locally that theres free travel anywhere in Scotland for families leaving abusive relationships.Sometimes getting away to family in another area would be a good start ,or a refuge far from the abusive partner

I'd wondered how this would play out as the shelves got cleared of booze before we were locked in.
Seems my unease was justified. So sorry to read/hear thisshock

As I understand it, the person will be directed towards a "room" where there will be access to telephone abuse helplines. That would make sense.

I was worried that our pharmacists (already overworked) were being asked to become counsellors as well!

Whether every Boots has a suitable private space for this I'm not sure. But if it helps people in a bad situation then that can only be for the good.

Apparently every Boots branch large or small will have a safe space for people to go to talk, Knowing most only have one pharmacist that could be tricky if there’s a queue fir meds. Not always easy to ring from home so it’s a start.

I just wanted to raise awareness because if we know we can help.
