Lucretzia Mon 28-Dec-20 01:33:57

Hi Blossoming

I'm wide awake as well. Don't know what to do with myself.

I do hope that you start to feel better soon and get some sleep.

then to come, in spite of sorrow, and at my window bid good morrow

You're not alone Blossoming. Despite all precautions I have caught a cold and cannot sleep. Sneezing and constant dripping of nose.

Hope you sleep soon and feel better in the morning.flowers

Thank you all, sorry for not getting back sooner but I have done some serious sleeping yesterday. I suffer from nerve pain and spasticity down the side that was paralysed, it’s normally kept in check by meds and exercise but the cold weather really gets to me. When it gets very bad I start feeling sick, find it impossible to get comfortable and can’t get to sleep. The less sleep I have the worse I feel. It’s a vicious circle really, I know I’m not the only one and I don’t generally feel sorry for myself. I stayed under the duvet yesterday, first duvet day in months. Gentle exercise and a bit of hand sewing today.

Tesco do a good own make sleeping tablet pack ( quite gentle)
As do Boots ( own brand) if I’m going through a bad sleeping patch I take either one or two at bedtime. They are non addictive and my GP recommended them.

Is it dyphenhydramine lemongrove?
That's the same as Nytol (the one in the blue box, not the herbal one).
I use them too sometimes.
It's a type of antihistamine.

Thank you for the kind suggestion. The I don’t take any over-the-counter remedies as I am on 9 prescription meds and have to be careful of interactions.

Not sure why I got a random ‘The’ in there!
