Here we are again! Fingers crossed! I keep meaning to set up in Word and then Copy/Paste across to GN, but now I'm underway. I've done a thorough "sweep" of my "office" and scanned the PC, but couldn't find any bugs! hmm
Megs do you think I'm a marked man? I tried out a new name recently, but that didn't work. Perhaps an app has been installed that "reads" my fingerprints!?

fatgran I'm disappointed! What's happened to the Aussie "fair go" ethos? There you were swinging your handbag along with the rest at poor Grandad1943. and I was eventually compelled to voice some support on his behalf, even though he was handling the situation admirably.
This "self isolation" must be causing more collateral damage than first thought Have you jettisoned our "Buddy" tryst? Oops! wrong word perhaps; try friendship1 grin

Jane "Unscottish"!? I'll have to watch my step here, but do you mean it's not "bluddy" cold enough for you? I thought you were going to stay in and read your latest copy of "The Oldie" It's as readable as ever, even "The Matron", but I guess that wouldn't appeal to many Gransnetters! shock

Our TV is full of Covid statistics, of course, but we're pleased to be told that we've reached our plateau, but there's obviously a very long way to go to the final whistle.
The Queen's chat came over very well, but poor old Boris does look really poorly!
Well, there we are! Success! I'll "create conversation" whilst the going's good!
Good Health. wine still only one!

Hi Rufus, pleased to see you are as cheerful as ever and that the Australian stats are looking good, wish it were so over here.
However, onwards and upwards!
Yes, Boris did look very unwell, fingers crossed for a speedy recovery and to everyone who is suffering with this awful virus and of course, all who have everyday problems to overcome.
Gday to you Rufus

Hi Rufus2. Another cissy non cold day here. Windy though. Our daily exercise walk fairly flew as we had the wind behind us.
I'm psyching up for the big shop tomorrow. I'm hoping things will seem more relaxed somehow as we've all got used to the new way of shopping. I saw a good photo of a ginger cat in a queue patiently sitting behind the marked line waiting his turn. Off to buy Dreamies. Do you have them in Oz? I think it's crack cocsine for cats. Our boy goes politely daft for the stuff.
Oldie duly processed and enjoyed. Currently working through the book review supplement. Keep well old boy!

No no no Rufus I was laughing WITH not AT grandad!

I thought he had made a couple of very funny comments so I showed a picture of a hermit crab coming out of it's shell and was congratulating grandad for coming out of his - seemed no one got it including you and grandad.

My comment was showing support for grandad, sorry it fell flat sad

I felt 'buddyism" with grandad - he was joining our group of those on the naughty step!

Two more cases of the virus here on the north west coast - it seems to have infiltrated into our main hospital and several staff have now come down with it. Very frightening and they think it has gone through the air conditioning system.

We are still keeping sane but a lot of bickering - thank heavens for those big sheds - OH spends a lot of time getting very dirty (not in an inappropriate way) in themgrin.

Looks to be fine today so may get outside in the garden and there is always cooking to do. I hate housework so that is low on my list of things to do.

I's been difficult for my son in law's father to get shopping etc as he does not write in English and son in law cannot read his father's native language so they have had to go shopping - a worry for them all.

I do send him some soup and other things I have cooked so hope this helps.

In Column 8 in The Sydney Morning Herald a chap wrote about an ad currently showing on the telly which advises citizens to "check on the elderly and only buy what you need". He wrote 'Sorry - I appreciate the thought but I, for one, am not for sale."

Keep well Rufus, from your (still?) buddy wine
