Originally from ‘up north’ we used to have a local bakery called Cooplands. They sold a meringue and cream based cake that had chocolate and hazelnut flavour. Does anyone remember it and have a similar recipe. I would love to make it for my daughter’s birthday.

Was it a roulade? I don't know it but it sounds divine, all the things I like.

I'd forgotten about them. I've just checked Cooplands website but they no longer sell them. MiniMoon….your recipe looks amazing. Sadly I'm supposed to be eating less and moving more so I'll have to pass on the baking.

Cooplands still going strong, my granddaughter worked in one in Lincs during the holidays. The cake sounds delicious.

Ooh yes, I remember that. It was so delicious. Mum used to buy one in Doncaster whenever I came back home.
