I have to have a tooth extracted in a couple of days time and am getting quite nervous, I have to go to hospital as I am taking Riveroxaban has anyone else had this and was it OK? it's the potential bleeding that worries me as I have a bit of a blood phobia

My husband had a tooth extracted at the dental hospital due to this but had no problems.

Do the hospital know about the medication? If not I would ring and ask advice now -you may well need to stop the tablets and have heparin injections instead as that only lasts 24 hours.
I assume you have your INR taken regularly - if so, as far as I understand it, if your INR is less than 4 you will stop bleeding but it may take a bit longer - DH is normally about 2.5.

I have always had to come off my anti-coagulents Sintrom 5 days before any invasive surgery including a tooth extraction.
I then self-inject with Clexane once a day. Also for 3 days after the procedure.
My INR is usually about 2.5 too, but better safe than sorry.

DH would always refer a patient on anti-coags back to their gp for advice prior to an extraction.
