Apparently it's less contagious than the flu.

This is going to be the biggest problem, harrigran, those who left China before/during the outbreak. The incubation period being around ten days in which they wouldn't have been aware that they had the disease.

I just hope the isolation unit in Newcastle is well isolated IYKWIM.
These confirmed cases have been staying in a hotel in the centre of York, just imagine the number of contacts. Planes, trains, hotel staff and all the premises that they have eaten in and walked round. To have developed the infection now means they have left China during the outbreak.

Sounds like it's a nasty bug I don't think this is the apocalypse virus.

The two cases are in a hospital in Newcastle.

My local hospital is housing those who are coming into the UK today, Arrowe Park hospital, where I once worked.
They'll be in the old " nurse's homes " buildings which will be equipped with all facilities for the next 2 weeks.

I don't envisage the virus will be any worse than others have been, apart to those who have existing illnesses. I hope not anyway.

Just reading that the UK had its first cases. Guess it was only a matter of time. Let's hope they manage to contain it
