I don't have a dog but wondered if any dog owner could answer this question just because I'm intrigued to know if it's true or maybe because I'm bored and even minor things now seem interesting grin

Has the government said that dogs from different houses shouldn't be allowed to play together or even meet and greet if they're in the same area. I don't mean being taken specifically to meet up but if they meet by chance on walks or in our communal garden. One of my neighbours was adamant that it was true and really short with another neighbour who said she'd not heard anything like that.

No, never heard that, fake news!

I don't think I've read that anywhere.

No I've never seen that however I think I did see advice that we shouldn't stroke other peoples dogs, even our neighbours in case the virus was on their fur. We don't pat any of our friends dogs at the moment when we our paths cross out walking and the dogs are finding it funny, we think. They get pulled up short as we socially distance ourselves and shout Hello! Strange times.

No I have not heard of that either vampirequeen washing hands after stroking etc for cats and dogs is recommended.

More fake news IMO too!????

As others have said, I haven't heard that either.

I thought she'd made it up tbh but I thought I'd check. She's a strange lady. The other week she accused me of trying to kill her Christmas tree (planted in the ground) because I stood a pot of tulips next to it. This dog thing must be another of her fantasies.

Thanks for you help.

The advice is that dogs should be kept on leads when other people are about so I don't think that she's complety wrong. Obviously owners need to be 2 meters apart.

Not heard that, but dogs should be on leads at all times now.

I walk my dog once a day, have not let him off the lead since Lockdown began and I walk him over fields,I never see anyone, but wouldn’t risk him being loose.

Same here heath480; terrified of a strange dog running up to mine and it's owner coming up to me to retrieve it. Mind you, it's so busy round our way at the moment with joggers and cyclists we're going to start walking very early in the morning from now on.
