Fracking earthquakes

There have been two minor earthquakes since Friday at Little Plumpton. Apparently, neither was felt at the surface and the red light system meant fracking was stopped. However, I still feel very uneasy about fracking as I feel not enough is known about the pollution of groundwater and the destabilisation of the land. I cannot understand this rush to empower yet another non renewable energy source. Instead, let’s make sure all new housing has to be built with solar panels, wind energy is subsidised (providing employment, particularly in some of the most struggling areas such as the Humber), and research in alternative energies is funded.

Yes weather changes that’s why you have to explore ALL things we ve been given, not just concentrate on wind if there are areas where the weather fails then you use the other alternative Now I have no science or understanding of any if this so really have no business replying but in my heart and I m not even religious I just believe everything we need to produce our needs has been given to us we just ignore 90% of it to find our own solutions Yes life has probably got out of sinc and become more and more complex and I think that’s why the world is so dissatisfied with everything now and consequently much more unhappy

It won't.

M0nica read the Greenpeace article. The idea that water is an infinite resource that we can exploit is so wrong. The water is often polluted when it is returned. Polluted water doesn't stay in one place it can move around you know, the result cannot be predicted. The crisis of water supply is one of the worst problems people will face in the future. Of course it isn't as rofitable as oil.

That should be Profitable

We can't always rely on wind and sun but they are fairly reliable; however, we can rely on wave power and I do not know why we are not investing more in that instead of fracking.
Presumably fracking is cheap? But at what price?

I read a Greenpeace article recently condemning one of the chemicals used in fracking. The chemical involved is widely used in the food industry.hmm

What is more I never said water was an infinite resource. I said that the water is being taken out of the ground and put back in the ground. It is unlikely to to be potable water.

Believe me, if you live in the Thames Water area water is much, much more profitable than gas.
