I had no memory of this Annie considering it was in 1974 ( I was 12) . Things have changed massively since then . Reading the reports the would be abductor suffered from mental illness and would have never succeeded .
Surely the royals are at far more risk when they are walking around and flitting from country to country than they are in their heavily armoured cars with their huge security entourage?

Gillybob I don't know about London but when the royals are staying in this area of Scotland security is minimal. They travel in a Range Rover or an ordinary people carrier van like my nephew has for his four children. I'm sure they're beefed up vehicles but there are no masses of security. They even travel to Scotland on ordinary scheduled flights - I know because I've been on the same flights with some of them.
