A great day for justice and well done Gina Miller for seeing it through. So its back to business tomorrow at 11.30 and sort out out some important business like the Domestic Abuse Bill and Thomas Cook.
We can now move forward as a nation united under our laws and parliament. We have a very nutty series of problems to resolve, including the maintenance of our national union and Brexit.
Today we should celebrate together the defense of our nation's democracy.
Celebrate our Judges. Well those crying for Judiciary independent of Europe have it. I imagine some of them will be muttering yes, but not this kind of independent thought ?
Lady Hale shows just how brilliant a woman of our generation can be.
Under new rules, which make retiring at 70 mandatory, Lady Hale, who is 74, would not have been able to preside over the proroguing of parliament case. But she is among the last of the judges who can serve to 75 as she was appointed to the bench before the rules were changed in 1995.
What a loss it would have been if she'd been forced to retire at 70.
