Pleased though I am that Boris won it is a shame there is no viable opposition to, if you like, keep him on his toes .

He is kind of in the honeymoon period where he is so delighted with the result and says he is humbled by our trust in him, so let’s hope it continues.

I’m getting the message that a few Labour MP’s have been unhappy about the way their party was going. Hopefully this is the time when they re-evaluate who they are representing and become a credible opposition.

The Last Leg have got a chart they're going to get out to check on the extra nurses, police, hospitals etc. Must say the programme cheered me up enormously last night.

Damian Green has said on LBC that people need to be paying into an insurance style system for health care.

I think that is insurance for social care 'for those who can afford it'.

And why not - those who can afford it are having to pay now for social care and people do take out insurance already.
Taking out insurance could be a good idea.
However, if you never need it would there be a refund into your estate?

There's never going to be 50000 more nurses. By their own admission 18000 who did not leave were already included in that figure. They might as well have promised a million more on that basis. Therefore the rest is almost certainly pie in the sky.

Do they mean that Radio4 might actually start to question them on their manifesto pledges? Are they going to hide from the media the way Johnson hid from media scrutiny in the last few days of the election campaign. Maybe Radio 4 could supply them with a fridge....

Of course non payment of the licence fee should be decriminalised. Who wants to see non payers imprisoned at the taxpayers expense? (Where, incidentally, there's free tv.)

Far-right Britain First is urging its supporters to join the Conservative Party in order to “make Boris Johnson’s leadership more secure”.

They certainly used to Labaik especially if the offender was female as there was always more room in female prisons, unless that's an urban myth I fell for.
