Just found this quote from Nye Bevan. Is it possibly prophetic?
Soon, if we are not prudent, millions of people will be watching each other starve to death through expensive television sets
I think it's rather worrying.

Baggs sorry I don’t know if miners in England did the same,
Nye’s fsther was a miner and Nye too worked in the pits when young.

BBbevan my g grandfather, a Baptist minister took part in
the burials of the victims of Senghenydd, in his journals I read 7 coffins left one house.

I obviously know about Nye Bevan, I’m sure everyone does, but I don’t know Bill Nye, I’ve never heard of him before today.

A terrible tragedy BB, so many men and so many widows and children without a father.

anniezzz09 understandable. How many others think in this way. Scary.

Many people think this way and many people just can't be bothered to challenge this warped thinking any more. You either take the time to extend yourself away from your bubble and look outside or you don't. You either feel some compassion for your fellow human beings or you don't.

It's a total waste of time talking about people with no shoes, no jobs, a bad decision that has spiraled out of control,an illness that has caused a further illness, a person with no bus fare and so on.

Nobody is going to be inspired to take a look outside their fortress. After all, they have worked hard to get it.
