I am wondering if this is the colleague Jishere was referring to elsewhere?
one of our ladies died because someone spat at her, he was infected, she had underlining (underlying?) problems

Spitting is a disgusting habit, but in this case it has been established that it was not what caused this lady’s death

Belly Mujinga, 47, who died with Covid-19 on 5 April, was working at Victoria station when she was assaulted
Following "extensive inquiries" British Transport Police (BTP) concluded the attack did not lead to her death.
The force also said no further action would be taken against a 57-year-old man interviewed by officers
It was reported Ms Mujinga had been spat on and coughed at while working in the ticket hall with two colleagues
BTP said it had scoured CCTV footage and spoken to key witnesses to "establish the full circumstances of what happened on 21 March ".
" Following a review of all the information, senior detectives have concluded that there is no evidence to substantiate any criminal offences having taken place", it said
" As a result, the matter will not be referred to the Crown Prosecution Service. "

I think, however, if he did spit at a public official, that he should be named at the very least.

The report seems rather ambiguous but it does sound as if an attack took place, which is surely in itself grounds for a prosecution, even if it did not lead to her death.

I wondered if that was the lady that Jishere was referring to.
The family, friends and colleagues must feel very let down.

Surely if he spat at her and claimed he had covid 19 then that would cause the poor lady mental anguish? Surely it must warrant some kind of punishment?

There ought to be fines for anyone seen to be spitting. It's the most disgusting germ ridden habit. We'll be fighting TB next !

If he actually spat at her he should be punished. Even if at the time he thought he was free of Covid and was just doing it to be vile, he could have had it. Even if he tested negative, he might have had it so it is not acceptable. It sends out the wrong message that spitting in someone’s face is not going to be punished.If he did not spit at her this should be made clear.
I am still confused about the ‘ extensive injuries’. Even if they did not lead to her death surely some action should have been taken. I think more clarity is needed.

I seem to remember a paramedic was spat at a couple of years ago and the guy was charged with assault.
