There have been several articles in the paper and on the tv news about how those countries with right wing, populist heads of state have the worst results in the current crisis. Such as the three named above.

I've just read an interesting article in the Guardian with Fiona Hill who is an expert on Russia. The lady is English from a mining family in Bishop Auckland and she describes her life there and hr reasons for moving to America. She also describes working for Trump as an adviser.

I thought that a few of you might be interested in her perspective on the current situation and some of you may have read it already. Anyway, here's a link

Not sure who called labour voters stupid, apart from Tory voters.?

I read the Guardian and can’t ever recall that being said of labour voters, well of any voter tbh

There is no doubt that Putin wants to destabilize the “West” in any way he can, on the other side we have done a lot to harm Russia’s interests over many years.

I would separate that from donations to the Tory party, that is just to enable Russian oligarchs to launder their dodgy cash in the UK. That’s for personal gain rather than national interest.

I’m concerned that Johnson and Cummings have Russian contacts, the fact that they have used populist or nationalist tactics to win an election is no more than other UK politicians have used in the past. Will they use these these contacts to give favour to Russian interests in the Brexit trade talks - probably. I remain to be convinced that that Russia is a threat to democracy in the UK, although Cummings could easily be an agent at the center of government and it’s just a crazy risk and he shouldn’t be there.

The connection to Covid 19, they are all careless with lives and try to put financial and economic interests first, they have failed spectacularly in that. The original package of loans and deferred taxation has expanded beyond their worst projections.

It is implicit in all discussions where people use the terms 'daily mail readers lap it all up' sorry to the poster who said similar I am not having a go at you it's just one of many examples of the discourse around this issue. It helped created a particular climate which really didnt help, the whole msm are 'leading' the voters was part of it.
