I am rather surprised that there has been no threads about the new Scottish Gender Recognition legislation recently passed by Nicola Sturgeons government.
I understand the the National Government will refuse to allow it to become law and I can see that some Scots will have a problem with that decision.

Do the majority of Scottish voters support this legislation?

I am sure many of us would be interested in the opinions of our Grans in Scotland.

What puzzles me is that a child of up to 15 years and 11 months is too young to consent to having sex and can't know if they really want it or not, yet a child of just one month, or even day older is old enough to embark on a course of treatment that will change their bodies and their lives irredeemably. I find that deeply disturbing.

There has been a very long thread about it.

And what was the consensus?

People held different views and expressed them clearlygrin. It obviously wasnt only people from Scotland though.

Be good then if Scottish grans came on this thread to indicate their views while the rest of us take note.

The rest of us won't stay away, Ug. Those who like to air their opinions on everything won't be able to restrain themselves. There will also be personal digs at those who voted in the current party in power, followed by energetic postings by those who voted for them, followed by equally energetic responses from those who didn't.

That is the usual pattern. I can't imagine it will be any different.

Ah. I understand Elegran.
I suppose a snapshot from Scottish grans might have been interesting but unlikely to stand out as such then.
