De de Dede (beat)(beat)de de Dah
De de Dede (beat)(beat) de de Dah
De de de de de de de de Dah-ah
Repeat first two lines
Dah Dah Dah de Dede Dah de da-ah.
(clue, an evening of retro pop songs from the 50's and 60's)

rosequartz Thu 08-Oct-15 23:43:48

Sounds like something from Les Miserables but it can't be

And I apologise if that becomes today's "ear worm"!!

Indinana Fri 09-Oct-15 09:14:27

Yes, that is now my ear worm, but at least it's got rid of '12345 once I caught a fish alive' (my GD's current favourite!) so thanks Alea grin

Elegran Fri 09-Oct-15 10:21:55

Alea Is that Delilah?

Alea Fri 09-Oct-15 10:49:08

No, Elegran!!!
Give up?
Click the link!

TriciaF Fri 09-Oct-15 11:10:08

It's difficult - there was once a music quiz on the radio and one item was to name a tune from a sort of tapping sound, which gave the rhythm but not the notes. I could sometimes get those.

Elegran Fri 09-Oct-15 11:41:22

I see it now!

rosesarered Fri 09-Oct-15 11:52:53

Alea, I don't need clues, as this sounds like the first record I ever bought,
hoots Mon! By something like Lord Rockingham?

Alea Fri 09-Oct-15 12:37:13

???
No, Susan Maughan!

TriciaF Fri 09-Oct-15 13:22:14

So who's next?
Nobody guessed it so I think you should have another go Alea.

Alea Fri 09-Oct-15 13:30:44

I can't believe you haven't clicked the link!

Anyway, if I am not treading on any toes

Da da Dee da Dah
Da da de da de da de Dah
De da de da Dah Dah
De da de da da de Dah
rugby

TriciaF Fri 09-Oct-15 13:42:33

I clicked the link - but that's cheating!

ninathenana Fri 09-Oct-15 17:52:59

Alea DH says "swing low"

rosequartz Fri 09-Oct-15 18:02:34

I can only remember one of Susan Maughan's - Bobby's Girl

Um, no then,
is it the Haka?

Alea Fri 09-Oct-15 20:26:44

ninathegrandad I really don't think so!!(only just tepid)!!

It was indeed "Bobby's Girl" as in
"I want to be (beat)(beat) Booby's girl" etc.
Dreadful song if you have your feminist hats ongrin

Ana Fri 09-Oct-15 20:33:12

If you want to hear a song which would really make feminists apoplectic, listen to this by the Three Degrees! I could hardly believe the lyrics when I heard it played on the radio a few weeks ago...

As you were...

rosequartz Fri 09-Oct-15 20:38:31

Yes, well ...

They probably made quite a bit of money from it and didn't need a man!

Ana Fri 09-Oct-15 20:40:28

Yes, but if you listen to the lyrics, they don't care that their man is sleeping around, treats them like rubbish and generally ignores them - 'a woman in love loves only one man...' hmm

rosesarered Fri 09-Oct-15 20:41:04

Strangers in the night Alea?

Ana Fri 09-Oct-15 20:41:32

No wonder the late seventies was a boom-time for divorce! grin

rosesarered Fri 09-Oct-15 20:42:08

grin
