And realise that it is (to an extent] not worth it!

Mr P and I have decided (well, he has really) to have a turkey this year, instead of the threesd birdv rd roast. " 2 of the Local Supermarkets hald sold out, eventually found one in the "medium" section

And it's not quite right!

If you're paying the same amount (i.e £16.00 for a turkey that weighed 3.9kg as you might pay the exactly the same amount for one that weighed a bit over 5kg,

I suppose it's a case of Early bird catches worm, but living where I do I wouldn't be easy!

Paying the same price for different weights just doesn't sound right at all.

Anne58 Thu 18-Dec-14 11:46:33

They all seem to do it vamp, class them as small, medium, large, extra large etc, with the same price across the weight range in each category. I have seen this in Morrisons, Lidl and Tesco.

The'fish lady' in T***o this morning told DH that from noon on Christmas eve there will be loads of things half price in the fresh food section. It will freeze and they have lots of stock. I shall send him and wait here with the freezer bags at the ready!

phoenix there is no way that I could afford to buy a small turkey here this year- £50+. I suppose that supermarkets can get away with it because it is London. I am amazed at the price that you have paid.

Anne58 Thu 18-Dec-14 22:26:51

Charleygirl according to the websites, Tesco small frozen turkey is £12, Sainsbury's £12.50

Ana Thu 18-Dec-14 22:40:28

We always buy a turkey crown. No one likes the legs in our family so less waste!

Agreed phoenix that weight thing is very strange. Mr Roses bought a large frozen turkey but looked for the smallest in that range so it would be exactly the weight that he wanted to buy. I did point out that he could have bought the largest [we're not made of money] but he was happy to have one that was the weight he wanted.Men eh?
