How often do people preface the most outrageously insulting statements with this?
And ex-UKIP councillor Rozanne Duncan is "surprised " her party expelled her? Even UKIP (could they..... ?) couldn't have gone along with "I'm not a racist but the only people I do have a problem with are negroes.... I really do have a problem with people with negroid features".

You couldn't make it up!

INdeed!

Saw her interview yesterday- what a horrid, obnoxious woman! Her excuse is that 'they' were not around when she grew up! I grew up in rural Switzerland- 'they' were not around either, but 'they' are not a 'rpoblem' for me at all.

Marelli Sun 22-Feb-15 16:13:28

She is a horror....certainly not someone I would like moving in next door to me. I would have a problem with her for sure.

Mishap Sun 22-Feb-15 17:54:12

I had never heard of this woman before - I'm sorry to have heard of her now.

Grannyknot Sun 22-Feb-15 18:00:34

Disgusting.

nigglynellie Sun 22-Feb-15 18:05:48

What a truly awful woman! Quite unbelievable!

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 22-Feb-15 18:19:02

Surely she will be arrested under the Race Relations Act? Can she get away with saying that?

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 22-Feb-15 18:21:58

No. She would have had to be inciting racial violence. But wasn't she? She was encouraging other thickos to come out with that kind of thing, and who knows where that could lead.

feetlebaum Sun 22-Feb-15 19:02:47

The phrase "I am not a racialist, but..." is a dead give-away.

However: when did the word 'negro' become insulting? Surely it is in the same list as 'caucasian', to which I happily answer..., or Semite, Indian, Asian etc. etc.

She told the truth about her reactions - I don't think she should be prosecuted for that. Encouraging racial violence? I don't think so - but what would be more liable to be prosecuted would be inciting racial violence - and I donlt think they would be able to make that stick.

ninathenana Sun 22-Feb-15 19:03:52

On what level did she think someone in the public eye could get away with saying such things. Outrageous for some low life to say it but she must be short of a few brain cells to think she could get away with it.

Soutra Sun 22-Feb-15 19:30:10

She said " racist" not " racialist, feetle, and I believe in the contexxt "negro" and "negroid features" are pretty outrageous.

Eloethan Sun 22-Feb-15 19:32:08

I wouldn't be surprised if there were several UKIP politicians with such bigoted views (remember "Bongo bongo land", "poofters" and "ting tongs").

I don't think such a remark would be deemed to be a criminal offence, and personally I think it would be unwise to treat it as such. The humiliation of being removed as candidates and of having their disgusting and ridiculous comments broadcast so that all could see their stupidity, is surely much more effective than making martyrs of them?

Teetime Sun 22-Feb-15 19:43:49

I'd like to say something erudite here but all I can think of is 'thick bitch'!

loopylou Sun 22-Feb-15 20:30:50

That certainly sums her up nicely Teetime! grin

Did anyone see the comedian Reginald something or other who is on have I got news for you? Returning to the southern US ? I'm a great fan of him and that programme.I was stunned that he was so apprehensive to be greeted by locals on his return. He said he was glad he had the camera men with him. I do think the US is racist alongside the UK but I didn't realise how badly. I've not been back to the US for 10 years or more.

Lilygran Sun 22-Feb-15 22:34:47

Reginald D Hunter. Great programme! He was accused of being racist confused for using the forbidden word so he now includes it in the titles of his shows.

ninathenana Sun 22-Feb-15 23:13:00

I thought black people felt it was ok to use the 'n' word when describing themselves or another black person. confused

I'm sure I've seen/read that in the media.
