Tegan and I are planning to visit Edinburgh Zoo some time during the week starting 7th September. Marelli might be there. anyone else interested? We'd need to dedicate a day to it, about 11 am - 4.30pm. There is a cafe, and various ice-cream and crisp kiosks. Looks like no panda babies this year again, but there are some baby meercats www.edinburghzoo.org.uk/news/2015/08/more-mini-meerkats-at-rzss-edinburgh-zoo/

What a really lovely day we had! Thank you again, Elegran for sorting us out and for your patience in waiting for Ina and me (all because I'd left my bit of paper with the carefully scribbled directions on, at home on the arm of my chair). I'm very happy to be the cassowary with the blue neck in the photos. It has a horny head, a neck with a wattle, and big feet with 3 large toes. Describes me to a T (though I have more toes and my head's a bit different) grin !

I like the Mohican hairstyle (cassowary's not yours) The cassowary has the right attitude to childcare - B off and leave Dad to it.

Was the cassowary not mentioned in Alice in Wonderland - Through the Looking-glass? It does look like something from a dream! That bird's got attitude! wink

Was that a flamingo? Held upside down and used as a croquet mallet. The cassowary would be better for that, a harder crash helmet.
