As you know we will be celebrating our first birthday on 5th May - and to say thank you for making it a really special year we have put together a fabulous goodie box as a gift for one lucky Gransnetter.
All you have to do to enter is post on this thread telling us your favourite Gransnet moment from the last year.
The prize includes chocolate from Montezuma's Great British Pudding range, a bottle of No.3 gin and some fabulous books and the winner will be picked at random on Monday 7th May.
Oh Thank you GNHQ
My favourite moment was on the morning 5th May 2011 when I first posted on Gransnet, since then I have had many moments of laughter, lots of tears, but have made some very special friends so it would be unfair to pick one moment from so many

Oh gosh - like green there are so many good moments, but my favourite one would be chancing upon the Joys of Winter thread. That's where I found my GN feet.

Can anybody picture the lucky Gransnetter, sitting on a wet afternoon stuffing chocolate, getting quietly gin-soaked, and reading crappy books interesting literature.
Mind boggles!

What are you trying to do to the flower of British womanhood?!

For me, it was the moment I logged on [^ages and ages ago^] to discover that a member who had been needling me, appeared to have had an overnight personality transplant. It was as if I had wandered into a derelict house [expecting the worst] and finding that it had morphed into a cosy, comfy, welcoming home...which is the way I feel about Gransnet.

Congratulations, I have only recently found this forum and long may it continue. It is informative, light hearted (sometimes!) and great for people who are housebound or for some reason can't socialise.

For me it was the wonderful support I received from all my amazing new friends after John died suddenly. I didn't post for a long while, but I kept peeking and to read all the words of comfort and encouragement meant a lot during a very sad and emotional time. (thank you all again

My favourite moment had to be singing the carol at Christmas. Thank you to all the lovely gransnetters I've had the pleasure to become acquainted with over the year....
One moment that does stand out is jingles Christmas present to her DD

My most memorable moment was finding gransnet.com. There is so much on here to brighten my day. Thankyou for being here...;0)
I love Gransnet. I have had several free books via your promotions and have had many LOL moments from your forums - especially some of the moments involving knickers! You manage to achieve a perfect blend of being informative and entertaining. Congratulations and here is to many more birthdays.

I received a paperback book through the post a couple of weeks ago and couldn't think WHO it was from.I then remembered I'd entered a comp on Gransnet and must have won.It made my day.
Most certainly the completely whacky Halloween party. We were the Gransnet coven and as far as I remember someone even got arrested!

She's still trying with 'em Glass. (We were out for a walk one day recently and she found one of them in her fleece pocket!
. Can't imagine where she was when it fell out!)

And when we got drunk on New Years Eve and I told Glass I loved her. That needed to be said.

My favourite moment has been seeing how Geraldine has been able to represent the views of Gransnetters in her increasingly high media profile. It makes me feel we can still make a difference.
Far too many to mention but the highlights where finding the confidence to join GN in May last year after searching other sites which did not suit, the halloween party when I had the first outing on my new 4x4 Turbo Charged Broomstick after falling off the old one into the arms of a Policeman at the beginning of the M6 whilst on my way home
All the help when I was deciding to have my long hair cut just before Christmas when DD said "nannas" don't suit long hair.(still have it)and all the lovely friends I have made during the past year and the good advice I have been given on so many topic's.Thanks GNers.
to all.
