First great Western have a website for people who have lost a teddy on the trains. If your GC has lost a bear Google 'teddy rescue first great western' and maybe you will find it. There are photos of some bears they have in their lost property.

What a lovely idea. Makes me think that it is possible for large companies to have a heart !

Yes, it is a nice idea. A similar thing happens via Twitter. People who find teddies or similar things left behind adopt them temporarily, post photos on Twitter and other Twitter users retweet in the hope of the owner being found.

Lost dogs feature quite a lot too. I have been astonished at the numbers of lost dogs. Sometimes one hears of a happy ending.

It is wonderful when lost toys are found. Some years ago DGS lost a soft toy from his pushchair in Paris. The next day they retraced their steps and it was hanging on a fence.

DS's LYT (Little Yellow Teddy) was lost when he was about 7. The thought of the loss can still bring a tear to his eye.

My original teddy leads a quiet life on the shelf in my study but I have a little bear purchased from Harrods at the airport many years ago and he goes everywhere with me. I can't bear the thought of him getting lost or mislaid. He always travels in my hand luggage.

I thought DD had lost her little checked dolly when she was out with her Dad. She was 2 yrs old, and had seen a younger child crying in her pram and had given her the dolly. I thought she would want it at bed time but she never asked for it again. It was her favourite toy too.sunshine

It's so sad to see lost Teds and other toys suspended from fences waiting to be found by their bereft owners. DD1 lost a knitted cat (suitably named Pussy) when she was about 2. We retraced steps and found it hiding in the card section of WHSmith. She still keeps it beside her bed - she is nearly 40 wink

A bit off post but my DD has never forgiven me for washing 'Pink Ted'. She does not want to see the irony when she happily throws her DS's soft toys into the washer !!
