Brag all you like, soop. You have every right - they sound like every granny's dream! And it gives the rest of us an excuse for doing likewise. wink

Littlenellie Fri 28-Sept-12 07:40:32

soop lovely children, you have every reason to be besotted with them,we need to hear about the girls next, obviously they would be so lovely, look where the genes come fromsunshine they all have soop in their bloodxxxxxxx

Greatnan Fri 28-Sept-12 07:55:10

Soop - if a grandmother can't boast a little about her lovely grandchildren, who can? I love the idea of needing something and not knowing what as I often feel the same way myself!

Oldgreymare Fri 28-Sept-12 08:37:54

Me too!
Shopping the other day, a harrassed Mum was trailing a weepy little girl around.
Mum said 'I do wish you'd stop crying'.
Child replied:
'I might stop if you buy me something'.
I giggled!

whenim64 Fri 28-Sept-12 09:20:08

Brag away soop. It's lovely to hear about your grandchildren, and everyone else's too smile

soop Fri 28-Sept-12 14:20:55

Now I'm all misty eyed. How kind you are. smile
Hannah is the eldest, and she is studying art and photography in London. Her brother, Will, is also studying art at a different uni' in London. Ethan, their young brother is dyslexic [and very bright with it!] Kirsty is beautiful and brainy and graduated this year with a 1st in Law. She and her very suitable partner [who maintains aircraft in the Navy] live together in Hampshire. Lauren her younger sister [21 next year] is reading several ologies at Bristol uni'. Lauren is a "people person"...kind and great fun. Louie is their young brother.
So, that's it...lots of bragging, and big hugs for listening. Have uploaded extra pics from the weekend. I wasn't able to shift them to the top. confused

Bright and good-looking too, soop. A lovely family and you have so much to be proud of. They are lucky to have you as a matriarch. Torben looks like being up there with the best of them! I hope I will be in a position to be as proud as you, though my tribe is less extensive. No 1 GD is about to start her final year at Manchester Met. I'm very proud of her - she's a lovely sociable girl and has been working hard despite her dyslexia. The young ones are all still in primary school but already showing certain aptitudes, from athletics, to maths, through art and writing!

soop Fri 28-Sept-12 15:10:43

anno Isn't it lovely that we're fit-to-bust-proud concerning our grandchildren. They are all seem so different. And yet...grin

annodomini Fri 28-Sept-12 15:41:45

Yes, soop, it is. The day my first grandson was born, I was cuddling him and he gave me such a knowing look that I somehow knew he was going to have a sense of humour and he is, at the age of 8, such a joker! And I said to him that day that I would be there at his graduation. I will be about 85 then!

soop Fri 28-Sept-12 17:20:53

anno I know what you mean. A sense of humour is priceless. You will be at his graduation. And your smile will be as warm and wonderful as it was when you first held him in your arms. I'm planning an outfit for the wedding which all the family hope will take place within the next two years. Have just heard that Kirsty has secured her fist job in a law firm. A great way to end the day. grin

Ella46 Fri 28-Sept-12 17:30:03

soop you are a star!
Gorgeous family xx

Littlenellie Fri 28-Sept-12 17:52:27

annodomini Fri 28-Sept-12 18:23:35

That's great news soop- law firms have been quite hard to get into recently. So very well done to your GD. smile

Ariadne Fri 28-Sept-12 18:57:41

Now we are nearby, our two oldest DGC have dropped in several times on the way home from school; it is so lovely. DGD1 is in Y12 and English is one of her subjects, and we talked books for at least an hour. Oh, I could go on for hours! Tonight, they are on their way to meet their new cousins for the first time. I have a glow in my heart when they all get together, even if I am not actually there!

soop Sat 29-Sept-12 17:33:20

Ariadne I'm so happy for you. You've been through many trials and tribulations. You are where you're meant to be. I can feel that special glow. How lovely to be so close to family. flowers

Granddaughter Kirsty has secured her first job since graduating - Trainee Legal Administrator for a law firm in Portsmouth. Sounds good. So proud. grin

.......opens windows and wafts duster around in the fresh air.........

Right, ladeez....about time we had a friendly cup of tea and some of these chocolate eclairs. Come on in, everyone....and I mean EVERYONE!....is welcome to help themselves. Here, have this armchair, it's still warm. Now, isn't this nice? smile brew

Elegran Sat 13-Oct-12 19:32:43

Hello there When Can I have hot choc? It is so soothing.

whenim64 Sat 13-Oct-12 19:33:59

Hot chocolate coming up. Psst....want some brandy in it? grin

Elegran Sat 13-Oct-12 19:43:59

Sounds good. Is this fresh cream in the eclairs or that spray-on stuff like shaving cream?

whenim64 Sat 13-Oct-12 19:48:29

How very dare you!?! That's best Jersey double cream in there. Here, have a jammy dodger instead still feeling a bit tetchy grin

Elegran Sat 13-Oct-12 19:50:19

If I don't get an eclair with fresh Jersey double cream I shall stamp my feet and tell everyone you are rotten to me, so there.

whenim64 Sat 13-Oct-12 19:52:03

Ok help yourself. Here, I've just taken this batch of scones out of the oven. Anyone want to join us? smile

Elegran Sat 13-Oct-12 19:52:10

I actually know someone who prefers the spray-on gunk. Chain restaurants use it and get the customers habituated.

Elegran Sat 13-Oct-12 19:53:19

It seems particularly quiet in here at the moment. Has everyone gone early to bed? Are they watching something good on the box that we don't know about?

whenim64 Sat 13-Oct-12 19:55:24

Strictly! I've not really watched it before but I've got it on. It's really good smile
