Public breastfeeding

A furore today with a crowd of breastfeeders occupying a cafe who had asked a breastfeeding mother to move to a more discreet table! The manager had to apologise and grovel to a bunch of frankly over-endowed breastfeeders. Yuk. Has the world gone totally mad - what girl/woman would walk down the street with her bosoms all-a-hanging; what man, flashing his privates wouldn't be arrested for indecency.

Frankly, if I am out and about, I do not want to be part of an act that should be private and quiet and personal! If I want to see bosoms I can open a porn magazine, or page 3 of a newspaper - I do not want them at lunch.

By the way, did you know that the reason toilets in French homes often don't have washbasins is because you pay extra council tax per basin and taps.

Hmm - wonder if Bags still uses hers?

I once read that tennis players don't really need their 'comfort breaks' because they sweat so much and I have noticed that I can take a four hour walk, up very steep paths, on a hot day, without any problems. (I have to remember to drink some water though - my blood pressure once dropped so low that I got light-headed through dehydration.)

We had a thread about she-wees. Last year sometime.

I'll find it.

j04 Fri 06-Jul-12 18:46:04

Oh yes! Can't go back to sleep without.

Anagram Fri 06-Jul-12 18:43:06

I'm amazed at how long I can hang on sometimes. But not when I wake in the night....I just have to go!

j04 Fri 06-Jul-12 18:39:37

Yes. I can hang on. I think it could be all the pelvic floor pull-ups I did when I thought things were going to fall out. (they didn't)

I too have learned the art of hanging on, I did three 5 hour drives without a comfort stop and my trousers and feet stayed pristine.

Ohn nanban, your reaction is sad, I love to see babies being breast fed, its one of the nicest things to see and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, good for them why should they hide away, when a baby is feeding precious little boob can be seen.

Anagram Fri 06-Jul-12 18:13:35

Oh, yes! grin
Thanks, when!

Re peeing in France. We notice our French friends never ask to use the toilet even during a five-hour meal. The men do sometimes go and pee in the courtyard, but the women never go. We have four toilets and we entertain a lot, but nobody has ever asked. When we go out we have trained ourselves not to ask either.
