petallus, ana, Quite. I haven't forgotten. I had masses more energy when I was younger. I miss it.

What annoys me is that when I was a teenager they had only just been invented so we didn't make the most of it! Also when I started work, the bosses were all in their late 50s or older. When I got to that age, the bosses were in their 40s and I was old enough to retire.

Like being able to dance through the pain barrier. Couldn't do that now.

I could till a few years ago though – less than a decade. Not bad.

The sad thing is I wasn't young when I was young (if you get what I mean). At 18 , when my friends were going out to clubs and parties I was working my socks off and a single parent.

I have more freedom now than I did then

I still have no freedom what with parents, grandma, grandchildren..... oh dear.

I've kept extensive detailed diaries for the last 50 years.

Sometimes I go back and read stuff from early days and I can't believe how young I sound and some of the things I did, but which i have since forgotten about until being reminded by the diary, well I don't know whether to laugh or cringe.

But that's just me.

I'm wondering why OP was attracted by the name Gransnet in the first place.

65 now. I'm 63 shortly and never really think about how old I am - in fact sometimes I forget, because it really doesn't matter! My hair is white and I have wrinkles - and that doesn't matter either. I'd look very odd at 63 if I didn't have wrinkles (and a few whiskers )! When I look at women my age who pay a fortune for different cosmetics etc, I don't think they look any better or worse than me. I
I don't feel I'm young at heart - I'm just me!

The 65 was to say how many posts there had been - I nattered on so much about how I didn't care, that another 5 sneaked up on me!
