Hi my mum thinks I prioritise my daughters over my son I have always bought my daughters expensive vans as school shoes now that my son has started to wear cheap primark plimsolls as school shoes similar to vans my mum thinks my daughters should be in the primark ones aswell because I can't afford to buy my son a pair should they ?

Thanks for this - we'll have a look
Was gransnet response 3 days ago, after I reported this thread, and told them about the other one that was running.

rosequartz Sat 21-Feb-15 10:38:54

Ooh dear, don't let those pedantic Gnetters see that post blush

(Embarrassed now)

Soutra Sat 21-Feb-15 10:33:57

Oh Rosequartz - pedant alert!!
Without him/her/it grin

Ana Sat 21-Feb-15 10:33:29

Wasn't it a sort of dark maroon colour? I know they sold (possibly still do) ox blood shoe polish - the very name used to make me feel sick as a child!

I didn't think they did children's sandals in that colour though.

rosequartz Sat 21-Feb-15 10:25:51

I did say earlier ignore he/she/it and I thought he/she/it would go away, like a particularly persistent and annoying spot.

However, the thread continued and proved quite entertaining without he/she/it.

I say 'it' because it could be one of those computer generated things like those irritating phone calls.

Memo to self: Must look up Clarks 'ox-blood' sandals. I don't remember them, just red, blue and brown.
I do remember the bloody (literally) blisters I got on my heels from them every year.

Soutra Sat 21-Feb-15 10:03:43

IPads can be hilarious can't they? If they were a person, you'd be really really worried about their subconscious! grin

Stansgran Sat 21-Feb-15 10:01:19

Tot eminence of course is iPad speak for reminisce

Stansgran Sat 21-Feb-15 10:00:37

Yes but we have had the opportunity tot eminence over cutting the toes out of Clarke's sandals, Michelle Obama's converse and Gillybob's powder blue Doc Martins. Well worth it Phoenix

Anne58 Sat 21-Feb-15 00:17:57

Oh, it wasn't a list! blush I got a bit carried away!

Anne58 Sat 21-Feb-15 00:16:41

Oh well, it looks as if I will have to repeat myself again, (lovely bit of bad grammar there grin

Liza80 I've hinted, I've asked/requested. I've even sort of demanded, I've used fairly strong/unequivocal terms, but for some reason (perhaps the fault is mine, if so mea culpa) you really don't seem to understand. I will resort to a list, it might help,

I believe that you are not a "real" member/poster, therefore the situation you present with is not a real one relating to a real person (Frankly my dear, if you really needed advice re shoes wearing out, to which you have referred in previous posts, then you should not be allowed out without a grown up who is of sound mind)

Now here I WILL repeat myself:

SOD OFF

Thank you.

Flowerofthewest Sat 21-Feb-15 00:09:16

My mum cut the toes off my Clarkes brown shoes to last me til I went back to school. I have also met the grandson of Mr K who founded K's shoes, so there.

Flowerofthewest Sat 21-Feb-15 00:06:35

Is this for real?

Anne58 Fri 20-Feb-15 23:58:20

"his dance group" shock !

Oh how I do laugh! Got to hand it to you though, Liza80 got to be one of the best example of a come back that is still a load of absolute bollocks!

ninathenana Fri 20-Feb-15 23:56:24

I think Frank has defected to another forum I use. I'm guessing this from the style of the posts and the fact this man had a dog called Andy !!

FarNorth Fri 20-Feb-15 20:58:51

Thanks for dropping in again, Liza. If all is happy at your house, it seems that only your mum is unhappy with the situation - just tell her to zip it, why don't you?

Ana Fri 20-Feb-15 20:18:42

Frank didn't have a shoe fetish. His posts were never so mind-numbingly boring and repetetive - some were even quite funny! grin

rosequartz Fri 20-Feb-15 19:53:48

punctuated plimsolls would let the water in.

Anya Fri 20-Feb-15 19:51:01

No, Frank knew how to punctuate.

loopylou Fri 20-Feb-15 19:48:35

With the shoe fetish?

Faye Fri 20-Feb-15 19:45:01

Is that you again Frank?

Liza80 Fri 20-Feb-15 19:34:47

My son is happy with them anyway he needs cheap plimsolls for his dance group

rosequartz Fri 20-Feb-15 19:31:51

btw too:
Your son is upset because you don't like him as much as his sister so he has run away from home in his stinking plimsolls so you needn't come near this thread any more.

rosequartz Fri 20-Feb-15 19:29:54

This was turning into a nice nostalgic thread until you popped up again with your inane witterings whoever you are.

BOGOF - that refers to cheap plimsolls btw

Liza80 Fri 20-Feb-15 19:03:31

My son said to me today it's ok for me to wear shoe zone plimsolls I think they look cooler than expensive vans anyway even when they get tatty

glammanana Fri 20-Feb-15 13:22:04

sparkygran Lisa is probably looking for a similar response she got from her mother, whereas I think they should all be in good quality shoes anyway as they are spending most of the day in them, mine wore what we bought them until they where old enough to buy what they wanted but it still had to be a choice that conformed to school uniform,we did however buy them other trainers/shoes for out of school everyday wear.
