To want to ban the use of certain words

I am horrified at increasing use of the word 'gotten'. It really grates on me. Its just so wrong. Why can't people just say 'become' instead?

Well done Gillybob, your comments have made me smile, thanks for the giggle. I live in South Africa so lots of the sayings in England aren't used here, however some of my family in England do say LUSH, it really makes me squirm...

I use so many of these words and phrases, so perhaps I should just stop talking.

Innit, grossly irritating.

I can't stand the current craze for saying 'do you know what' then saying what it was they thought. Its usually used argumentatively as far as I can see.
