No I will not withdraw it Trisher, some have complained there is no one of colour on the panel, why ? they live in England, they choose to live in England, the majority of English are not of colour as it has been put. Did they demand the firemen be of colour or the hospital staff , no, why assume they will not get a fair hearing . I hope they do get a fair hearing, but I dislike this complaint of the skin colour

And, yes, it is a bit racist to imply, on no evidence, that someone of a different skin colour will not give one a fair hearing.

It is both racist and unfair to demand that any panel should be comprised of certain skin colour, it is just that, colour, which in my book means nothing at all.

Nobody was demanding that any panel should be comprised of a certain skin colour. They wanted one person who knew what their problems were because of skin colour. That's all. Not a lot to ask in the circumstances.

All employers are required to consider equality and diversity. Why not all panels like this?

Can you imagine if someone said "No women" on a panel? Then there would be an outcry. Equality requires everyone should be represented.

What is so wrong is the assumption the truth will be hidden because the panel MAY be all white British ,who will be on the panel will be announced this week . I don't care what skin colour , I want a fair hearing,

Baggs, anybody can ask for a jury to be changed to reflect their own colour, so yes, you could, if you were white, living in a BME area, challenge any juror who wasn't white, just by looking at them.
