Could anyone help here - some long serving and very interesting members seem to have just vanished. How did that happen. DJ, GGMK2 and WW. Where? and Why?

I was replying to Paddyann's post of 19:41:35, which I assumed was referring to political threads. She may of course have been referring to all topics, where, as you say, political leanings don't have much effect on cake recipes or family relationships. If she was, then her concerns are irrelevant, particularly as I don't remember the three absent posters commenting very often on relationships and cookery.

Merlot If your Jack Russells post on the forum, they will get the same respectful hearing that any other poster receives. Anyone who says that they are barking will be reported for personal abuse.

Thanks Kitty-the OP with no name has given an explanation or an excuse, for the choice of words you didn't like. And I do believe you know she is not a native English speaker.

And yet- I still think 'prominent' as in very active and of substance in their links and comments- even if you disagree with them- was not far off the mark.

Our semi adopted dogs are Danish Jack Russels on long legs- and they are fully anti-Brexit and totally European smile by birth and travel.

If a thread titled “ comrade Corbyn cock ups” isn’t Corbyn bashing I don’t know what is ( haven’t read. Any of it so maybe it’s not) I am not remotely a JC supporter btw.

Elegran Tue 10-Apr-18 21:44:50

But I've not seen any about " how marvellous our government and the daily Mail is".

phoenix Tue 10-Apr-18 21:51:28

Surely Gransnet doesn't have to be just all about politics?

Just as it doesn't have to be all about knitting/gardening/cooking/games etc?

(Phoenix wanders off humming "fings aint what they used to be"............)

Gatsby was French, lived in Switzerland, was adopted in UK and returned to Switzerland. Pudding is British, and is 30 years old in Switzerland, Slinky was British, lived in Spain then Switzerland, Minou is probably French. All happy EU citizens. Not sure that makes a difference, lol.

Anniebach Tue 10-Apr-18 21:53:02

No difference between Corbyn Cockups and Maybot.

annodomini Tue 10-Apr-18 22:12:19

It's possible that members who don't seem to be with us any more are actually "lurking" and having a quiet giggle at this discussion.

Chewbacca Tue 10-Apr-18 22:14:38

Very likely anno grin

lemongrove Tue 10-Apr-18 22:15:42

They wouldn’t be human if they weren’t Anno grin

MawBroon Tue 10-Apr-18 22:27:30

In answer to OP, I would just say that as this is a free country, presumably they exercised their freedom of choice and chose to do something else instead. hmm
Sad though that those who have remained seem to be regarded as “less prominent “ confused

lemongrove Tue 10-Apr-18 22:32:41

I think jura2 really meant prolific though.

MissAdventure Tue 10-Apr-18 22:34:53

I expect they had "better things to do" smile

lemongrove Tue 10-Apr-18 22:36:45

I have more important things to do but not better things ( at the moment) ?

MissAdventure Tue 10-Apr-18 22:39:17

So have I, now you come to mention it.. I don't want to do more important things though.
The crumbs on the rug will still be there tomorrow. (and the day after!) smile

Chewbacca Tue 10-Apr-18 22:42:17

I work during the day, and some evenings too, and so can't post as much. I sometimes sneak a look whilst I'm at work, but I can't really post if I see something that takes my interest until I get home. By then the thread has often moved on, way beyond where I saw "the interesting bit", and I've missed my moment! always was late to the party grin

Jalima1108 Tue 10-Apr-18 22:56:34

I promise not to tell you off if you reply to a post from five pages ago Chewbacca

Jalima1108 Tue 10-Apr-18 22:57:41

Do they all miaow in the same language jura?
Bearing in mind the news story that birds have regional accents!

Chewbacca Tue 10-Apr-18 22:57:56

grin well it would probably be just as confusing as my usual ramblings Jalima!

Jalima1108 Tue 10-Apr-18 22:58:55

Pudding is British, and is 30 years old
30? Is this a cat shock or a human relative?

lemongrove Tue 10-Apr-18 23:00:13

grin

lemongrove Tue 10-Apr-18 23:01:28

....and I promise to tell you off Chewy if you reply to something five pages back.?
