Meghan's father and photographer in photo scam

I think this is completely ironic.

The Royal family had asked the press to respect the Markle family's privacy, but now it appears Mr. Markle has been involved in staging some photographic scoops of his own, despite being described as a 'recluse'

The Mail on Sunday exposed the story yesterday.

Apparently the photographer and Markle set up some exclusive shoots which were then sold to press agencies around the world.

It quickly became apparent though that the pictures were 'too perfect' and obviously staged, but not before the photographer involved had received a considerable amount of money. The paper has said it is not known if Mr. Markle received any payment, but if not, why on earth would he participate in such a thing?

The Royal family must be cringing.

Whilst thinking of the Royal or any family with colourful members, two words spring to mind -Lord Snowdon,

Thanks, lemongrove.

Best of luck to your husband and hope your'e ok as well merlotgran.

When the engagement was announced, Harry made a comment to the effect that Meghan would now have the family she'd never had. That comment seems increasingly accurate.

I mean, key lime pie!! It’s vile! shock

shock key lime pie is delicious if made properly - with lots of lime juice and not too sweet.

Even when it doesn't set and ends up looking like a mess (like the one I made) it still tastes good.

goes off chuntering 'just because you grow lemons'

muffinthemoo Wed 16-May-18 20:41:22

Nigella has an absolutely brilliant and pretty foolproof recipe for a key lime cheesecake to convince the sceptics!

pollyperkins Wed 16-May-18 21:02:24

I love key lime pie!

My late opinion to this thread is I think Meghan’s father is hilarious. The paparazzi missed out this time.

I also think Meghan Markle is a huge asset to Harry. She is a humanitarian activist, bringing empathy for the underprivileged, intelligence and a hard work ethic to the Royal family.

Maybe he used this money to pay for his heart operation. I would have done

I see I have upset the key lime pie lovers grin well, all I can say is ‘let them eat cake’ ?

lemongrove Wed 16-May-18 21:39:16

Will there be key lime pie for pud at the wedding reception?
Will it become all the rage?
Sherry trifle was served at William and Kate’s wedding, a fab British pud.How dare these American foodstuffs grace our Royal tables! grin

Jalima1108 Wed 16-May-18 22:28:27

ps they don't have to be key limes, they can be common or garden limes!

I read back several pages looking for a recipe for Key Lime Pie and with no luck. The media makes huge amounts of money when it stirs up trouble and we know very well it can twist facts and tell downright lies. It was very sad they played dog with a bone with MMs family and people believing it. Whatever the truth is in really none of our business . We have seen the media disrespecting human rights and wrecking peoples' lives and we knew that MM and her family were going to be fair game for those who think they know better and live perfect lives- tabloid media fodder. We do know MM was close to both her parents, her teachers speak very highly of their part in bringing her up to be a very talented actress and lovely lady. From the TV interviews yesterday it seems the sister has been setting up some trouble, there might be jealousy we will never know, but it is sad that her father is too ill to be there. Many meet their parents in law at the wedding, Harry is a very busy person and is constantly travelling, he wouldn't have had much time. They look very much in love and I hope they have a long happy life together. Being a Royal is not going to be easy for Meghan or anyone, she can never ne perfect enough for many people.

Nice post endre123
I saw the interviews with her teachers, too, and they spoke very highly of her.
Her father was also an award-winning Hollywood lighting director I think.

Eton Mess is much easier to make than Key Lime Pie, especially if you buy the meringue!

We have been told Prince George and Princess Charlotte are attending as bridesmaid and page boy. Was this disclosed to change the royal story so we would forget about the 'father ' situation. We now have something different to talk about.???

OldMeg Thu 17-May-18 06:55:00

It’s all pretty disgusting the way the media is making a meal of this but of course it’s what sells papers to people who love to dish the dirt.

Good to read those posts that can see past the grubby media coverage understand how this might be making a bride feel in the lead up to her wedding.

Shame on those who forget that these are human beings, with feelings.

dear old woman 70

quote..... from the original

What right does anyone have on gransnet to 'cast shame' on people just for having an opinion?

This is not just about DM coverage. Thomas Markle is the architect of his own misfortune and he is still releasing statements to a celebrity news website.

Most of us feel sympathy for Meghan. It's her family who should feel ashamed (with the exception of her mother) not members of a forum who merely wish to discuss the top news item of the day.

Anyway, it makes a change from Brexit grin

Llelyn Thu 17-May-18 07:52:20

My father used to say that your friends are God’s apology for your relations

starbox Thu 17-May-18 08:04:18

There's plenty worse things he could have done, and the only important thing is if Harry & Meghan make a happy marriage - which I think they will do as she is accustomed to media attention, public speaking, etc so it won't come as a shock to her. They SEEM very well suited.

gillybob Thu 17-May-18 08:18:55

It seems that I’m having my posts counted too merlot confused
