Meghan's father and photographer in photo scam

I think this is completely ironic.

The Royal family had asked the press to respect the Markle family's privacy, but now it appears Mr. Markle has been involved in staging some photographic scoops of his own, despite being described as a 'recluse'

The Mail on Sunday exposed the story yesterday.

Apparently the photographer and Markle set up some exclusive shoots which were then sold to press agencies around the world.

It quickly became apparent though that the pictures were 'too perfect' and obviously staged, but not before the photographer involved had received a considerable amount of money. The paper has said it is not known if Mr. Markle received any payment, but if not, why on earth would he participate in such a thing?

The Royal family must be cringing.

Oh dear what did I start. Should we have a separate thread for Key Lime Pie debate? :D

Megan’s brother is in Windsor ! He said she would be a perfect princess, wish someone would tell him she will never be a princess or any daughters she may have.

maddyone Thu 17-May-18 10:35:25

Annie, I agree, but have never been able to understand why Prince Andrew’s daughters are princesses whilst Edward’s daughter isn’t. Any ideas anyone.

maddyone Thu 17-May-18 10:38:06

Sorry, forgot the ?
Even so, can anyone answer my question?

From Wikipedia
Louise is styled as "Lady Louise Windsor",[2] although letters patent issued in 1917 (and still remaining in force today) assign a princely status and the style of Royal Highness to all male-line grandchildren of a monarch.[13] Therefore, all else being equal, Louise would have been styled as Her Royal Highness Princess Louise of Wessex. However, when her parents married, the Queen, via a Buckingham Palace press release, announced that their children would be styled as the children of an earl, rather than as princes or princesses.[14] Thus, court communications refer to her as Lady Louise Windsor.[15]

I thpught it was because Edward is an earl not a Duke like the Andrew and william?
I believe princess Ann refused titles for her children so they were plain Peter Philips and Zara Philips? I have a lot of respect for Princess Ann.

Edward will become Duke of Edinburgh when Prince Phillip dies so his family will all go up a notch. Sophie will become a duchess and the children can then be called Princess Louise and Prince James of Edinburgh.

Anniebach Thu 17-May-18 11:53:48

All grandchildren of the sovereign were automatically prince or princess, it was changed after Andrews daughters , part of the skimming down of the royals, now only the children of the heir to the throne will have the titles. Diana was not Princess Diana, she wasn’t a royal princess If Charles wasn’t PofWales she would have been either Duchess of ?, Or princess Charles .

I totally understand why the decision was made to not style Camilla the Princess of Wales.

I also completely understand why the ‘daughters in law’ can’t be allowed to outrank her in the order of precedence.

I still feel a bit sorry for Kate who therefore is outranked by Beatrice and Eugenie even though her children outrank them!

I suppose all will be simpler once Camilla becomes Queen

merlotgran Thu 17-May-18 12:27:21

Kate is outranked by the York girls if Prince William isn't with her. If he is, she outranks them.

Same with Harry and Meghan.

No wonder people get confused. confused

gillybob Thu 17-May-18 12:30:10

I find all of this ranking of princesses, duchess, duke, earl whatever a bit of a joke. Titles belong in the dark ages.

Good for Anne refusing titles for her children. They seem to act as declarations that the owner need never do a days work in his or her life.

Mr. Markle has allegedly had a stent fitted in his heart yesterday, and is now saying he does want to attend the wedding.

Surely his doctors wouldn't let him fly so soon after an operation?

The behind-the-scenes preparations for this wedding must be causing a few headaches to say the least!

merlotgran Thu 17-May-18 12:53:07

Meghan Markle has issued a statement from Kensington Palace saying her father won't be able to attend the wedding as he needs to focus on his own health. Oh and 'Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you.'

I suppose she means US!

As my DGD says, 'Ooooh, Get her!'

And we're a family of monarchists! grin

pollyperkins Thu 17-May-18 12:55:26

Ive just heard it announced from Kensington palace that he will not be there. I think its wiser if he doesn't come after all this hooha! Id be worried that he'd have cold feet and bolt at the door from nerves or have a heart attack half way through the ceremony!

Blinko Thu 17-May-18 12:57:24

Anyone else think this man's an attention seeker? Or a recluse....

merlotgran Thu 17-May-18 13:11:41

How about an attention seeking recluse?

Iam64 Thu 17-May-18 13:15:50

I think you may well be right Blinko and merlot. No one who'd done the kind of work he did in the US would have posed unwittingly for those paparazzi photographs.
The dreadful half sister announced today she'd been in a car accident in which she was injured, as a result of being chased by paparazzi.
Would any of us be surprised to see one of the ludicrous American personal injury claims, blaming the RF for all manner of stuff.
I feel for Meghan, who needs this kind of nonsense days before their wedding.

Grandma70s Thu 17-May-18 13:16:17

We don’t know what he is. Extraordinary how many people seem to know these people’s thoughts, motivations and character.

icanhandthemback Thu 17-May-18 13:21:42

Well said Grandma70s!

merlotgran Thu 17-May-18 13:23:25

We know what they want us to know, Grandma70s and they're not holding back.

merlotgran Thu 17-May-18 13:25:38

I do hope Prince Charles walks her up the aisle which would be a lovely gesture of support. Her poor mother will cut a lonely and forlorn figure, given she's the only family member there.

JenniferEccles Thu 17-May-18 13:34:42

So many things about Murky Markle don't add up to me.

He had a good job and could afford to have Meghan privately educated, then he went bankrupt and is now living in a really seedy town in Mexico which is rife with down and outs, murderers and rival gangs dealing drugs.

I would LOVE to know what the Royals think of him! No wonder Harry hasn't met him.

Yes I agree, he sounds like an attention seeker, despite all the reports of him wanting to keep himself to himself.

maryeliza54 Thu 17-May-18 13:35:57

All the time M&H have been together and Mr M has never stepped out of line in public and yet some of you just seem to want to bad mouth him. He’s apparently living a pretty hard up life in a run down Mexican border town. He was apparently a tv lighting director but hardly part of the Hollywood glitterati. In recent weeks he’s been harassed by the paps and clearly eventually gave in but have you really looked at the photos - hardly the products of any master minds - pathetic in the true sense of the word as are the photos of him coming out of a drug store - how anyone can’t have sympathy for him is beyond me. All that against the might, privilege, wealth, connections, experience and resources of the RF. They had choices - they chose an extravagant wedding and didn’t think how to handle the family - well they are reaping what they’ve sown. As for the apologist above who said H was too busy to meet Mr M - well words fail me

maryeliza54 Thu 17-May-18 13:38:20

I think it’s really shitty to call him Murky Markle - really shitty and unnecessary. And it was apparently a lottery win that paid for MM’s private education
