lemon you’re not getting away with that - you and others played the envy/ jealousy/sour grapes card not the different opinions card and now I’ve called you out on this,

A is rich,
A does a certain action
B criticises A for doing that action
C, D,E, F, G etc ad nauseum say B is only criticising A because B is jealous.

I don’t think KA is a national treasure or royalty I just think kids of 10and 12 are old enough to travel by themselves. My kids got on planes, trains and busses by themselves from the age of 10.

They have to fly as unaccompanied minors though surely?

Which means they are supervised.

Very drole MB - I’m sorry you can’t understand the point I’m making - and I doubt repeating it will help but just once more <sighs> it’s utterly pathetic to say that anyone criticises KA because of envy/ sour grapes/ jealousy. It’s perfectly possible ( which some of you seem unable to grasp) that some of us criticise her because we think she’s wrong - geddit? No, thought not.

No envy, I actually like my kids and have always enjoyed spending time with them. 10 and 12 is a great time to play games with them-cards, chess etc.

Please could this thread come to an end ?

The airline staff of course- you know those people who serve meals, answer buzzers and look after people on planes. Oh and the people who have to sit next to her kids, because she is too mean to pay for them to be with her in business class and too stuck up to travel in the cheap seats with them.

Why on earth should two pre-teen boys assuming they are well- behaved take up any more attention than any other passenger?
And I would probably prefer a teenager /preteen to a massively overweight adult spilling over into my “space”.

Do you also castigate parents who travel with crying babies, stroppy toddlers or 5/6 year olds who kick the seat in front?

The first time I flew, when I was about 19, a young girl of about 10 sat next to me. Her parents sat a couple of rows in front of us. The girl very quietly and quite discreetly vomited the whole way. It was a short flight but the parents probably knew and were happy for someone else to sit next to her!

Since her children may well be flying off on a gap year in 2 or 3 years time it seems a sensible preparation to sit a few rows apart.
gap years are usually after school and before university, ie at 17 or 18, not at 12 and 14.

My daughter flew unaccompanied before she was 5 and loved it. They made a huge fuss of her and watched her as well as any nursery teacher would have done.
I'm amazed at that!

They have tightened up the rules now anyway, and unaccompanied children are not allowed to travel by many airlines.
When is a child accompanied? Is it when a parent is sitting in very close proximity or just on the same plane?

I think it's really odd that a busy lady like her isn't glad of a bit of time with her children, but that's just my feeling, no-one has to agree with me.

I often find myself comparing KA with Sarah Beeny who had to work a lot harder for her TV success.

I know which one I think is the more maternal.

Never having flown business class, what advantages does it bring?
With some airlines you get a bed.

I only travel standard on my commute because the train doesnt have 1st class.
That must make it difficult if you want to get on with work on the train.

Has KA got a plummy voice? I just thought that she speaks clearly, it doesn't sound plummy to me.
