What has Brexit got to do with drying washing outside polyester?

I almost always dry my washing outside (unless its raining obviously) . I don't have a tumble dryer, never have.

I live on the mainland. We all hang up our washing outside. After Brexit, UK washing will all have to be hung inside or put into tumble driers.

Isn't it good to dry clothes in the sunshine? I believe that ultraviolet light kills bacteria. I always hang my washing out if it's at all possible. In fact, I've just had to have a new washing line put up, as DSiL broke the last one by catching it on the open boot of his car! My washing line is at the side of my house, but you can see it from the road. I'm not worried who can see it, and I like to see other people's washing out too.

Nothing wrong with washing lines but I'm not sure I'd want to hang my washing out at the front of my house.

My gran would have had a fit! grin

In Colyton Devon, a pretty, touristy town, an anonymous letter was sent to a mum who puts washing out on a line.

The anonymous letter was written "on behalf of local business" and asked Ms Mountjoy "with kindness" not to put washing out at the front of her terraced house, which is in "a prime location"

Other residents and local businesses have showed their support for washing lines by draping underwear on shop fronts, the flagpole and in front of houses.

What’s wrong with washing lines? I know some housing estates ban it, but I like seeing washing out on the line and not just my own family washing.
