While I've (mostly) enjoyed the summer, I am now looking forward to autumn, aka 'Season of mists and mellow
soupfulness' in this house, since I do make a lot of thick, main course soups - no recipe but just whatever veggies I have, plus any suitable leftovers, lentils, pearl barley, etc. Plus bread and grated cheese.
They were a necessity many moons ago when dh and I were utterly broke, but he still loves them and would eat them every night.
I don't mind the dark evenings, since I have a Nativity set for Gdcs to knit, pref. by 1st December, and there's still an unfinished jigsaw (in one of those zip-up cases) left from last winter. I somehow don't feel right doing them during more clement seasons.
