AIBU to think there's no point in delaying the inevitable?

This procedure delays menopause by up to 20 years. Why? What's the point? There's a freedom that comes with the menopause that I wouldn't want to put off.

What do you think?

I think they want to stay forever young.

I would ask for referral to a menopause clinic Iam64 to get a better informed opinion as to whether HRT and AF are mutually exclusive. So many GPs are really poorly informed on the subject.

Probably a man that came up with this lame brain idea. I’m glad to be done with it all! Maturity has its advantages one of them being no periods.

Thankfully being on HRT doesn't necessarily mean periods.

I wouldn`t mess about with nature in any way shape or form.
It is what it is and what sane women would prolong nature.
And what about the monthly cost of towels etc.
Nah,, bring the big M on any day.

Everything comes full circle eventually. We have our fertile time, then nature takes over. Do we still want to be having periods on our deathbeds?

I started the menopause at 38 and it was all done and dusted by 41. And very pleased I was too.

At 52 I had all the nasties of the Menopause, bleeding, hot flushes etc. Then my congenital heart defect kicked in, told that if I did not have a valve replacement in 2 weeks I would be dead.
I had the op, very successful, I asked my DD to bring my some towels as the 'flood' was due.
It just never happened and that was it all over with. Except for night hot flushes I would not know anything had happened.
A drastic remedy but weirdly it worked for me!!!!
