I think she is, she is so passionate , knowledgeable & informed.
If this isn’t shown or taught in all schools yet , let’s hope that it will be
She is certainly an inspiring example for & to us all.
Well done young lady .

Thanks for your concern Urmstongran, but I’m fine & quite relaxed, but once again thank so much.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 27-Sept-19 13:58:49

Bridgeit your description of young people in your post of 13.00 today was a wide spread insult to the youth of today.

Please explain where you get this impression.

Urmstongran Fri 27-Sept-19 13:57:11

Bridget you sound het up now. People are allowed different opinions you know and if they don’t chime with yours that’s tough.

Bridgeit Fri 27-Sept-19 13:53:54

GG13 I guess you can’t explain what you were inferring , it would show you up to be . Judgemental , patronising, ill informed ,with a very narrow view & understanding of the world around you.

Bridgeit Fri 27-Sept-19 13:49:55

GG13, please explain your comment about tabloid & the reading of .

Anniebach Fri 27-Sept-19 13:43:32

Agree abbey

Bridgeit Fri 27-Sept-19 13:43:25

Reading some of the comments on here, I beginning to think that it’s not such a bad thing if ‘ the end is nigh’

abbey Fri 27-Sept-19 13:40:44

The actual cost to the earth of her boat was SIX TIMES that of Harrys jet. Not that I have any time for Harry.

But it shows how much she knows about saving planet earth. Its just posturing. So is Harry. Both need to go home and lead quiet lives.

Bridgeit Fri 27-Sept-19 13:40:23

Sorry GG13 where did I mention Essex, explain what you mean please?

Anniebach Fri 27-Sept-19 13:37:22

She has been praised by Harry, she travels by boat he travels by jets!

Bridgeit Fri 27-Sept-19 13:36:11

Sorry but I don’t read tabloids, What aStrange Assumption to make, very small minded & arrogant.

Ellianne Fri 27-Sept-19 13:34:59

GG13 thank you, we have many very intelligent, well educated, sensible, articulate, caring youngsters in Essex!

Bridgeit Fri 27-Sept-19 13:34:12

She is not to blame for non acceptance,
It is the small minded adults who should know better than to berate her & call her a ‘ weirdo .
Plenty of examples of that on GN perpetrated by guess who , Grannies, that’s shameful

Loislovesstewie Fri 27-Sept-19 13:33:12

GrannyGravy13, and we all know he isn't happy at the moment! I'm sure you understand what he is doing!

GrannyGravy13 Fri 27-Sept-19 13:31:03

Loislovesstewie I know what he means, GC has the same

GrannyGravy13 Fri 27-Sept-19 13:29:50

Bridgeit you have been reading the tabloids again, not a lot of young people are as are as you describe, not even in Essex!!

Loislovesstewie Fri 27-Sept-19 13:26:53

My adult son , who has autism said to me ' I've spent years trying to get people to stop thinking I was just some weird kid, now she comes along and has undone all of my efforts to be accepted' . He is not happy.

abbey Fri 27-Sept-19 13:21:43

When I was a kid it was ban the bomb. When I got to college it was - climate change, how we were going to all burn up ( that didnt work so they changed it to the world would freeze over) , how we all needed to be eco friendly, lower our footprints etc.

The Thunberg religion is just the same religion as they preached at me in the 1980's and '90's, except now I am all grown up and I can tell a con job when I see one.

It was always a con job. The science behind it is poor. Dear old Greta doesnt actually understand any of it , she just voices the words, someone somewhere makes another million and a lot of kids get taken for a ride with it. One day they too will grow up.

Bridgeit Fri 27-Sept-19 13:00:28

Ohh of course the penny has dropped ,our young people are supposed to ,get hair extensions, pouted lips, breast enlargements, watch s- - t on the telly, get into clubs under age, fall over coming out of clubs, worry about what shape they are, what weight they are. Drool over posters of shiny bodied men ,who have got smoother skin with more hair removed than the girls & don’t forget the pots of gel, gloss , hair potions, perfumes etc etcetc But heaven forbid they think about the planet & climate change ?

very funny........loved it

abbey Fri 27-Sept-19 11:34:09

NOT! I would love to say what I really think of this debacle travelling around the world and being hailed as a saint but it would get me banned.

Suffice to say she needs to go home and stay there.

Iam64 Fri 27-Sept-19 11:28:01

“Hysteria/neuroticism rubbing off on your grandchchildren”. That’s an interesting comment EllenVznnin. That’s your analysis then of this articulate, passionate young woman, someone you’d want to ensure can’t influence your grandchildren?
One of my grandchildren has a diagnosis of autism. He’s a young adult now, he’s very intelligent but socially he struggles. The greater his understanding of the impact of autism on his development and personality, the more his ability to cope increases.
The last thing Greta needs is unkind, Often ill informed comments from adults.

EllanVannin Fri 27-Sept-19 11:09:29

I certainly don't want her hysteria/neuroticism rubbing off on my GGC ! Heaven forbid. This girl is unwell and will burnout before long.

The best way to protect Greta Thunsberg is to support her cause

"Listen to the scientists!"
