Exactly NandG. I’m quite surprised just how many people engage ingenuously with these pranksters.

I have deliberately tried to avoid engaging with any of these threads, but was caught out a couple of times by the previous flurry of (interesting) questions.
People (inc me) offer up personal information in good faith and goodness knows how it is being mined/filtered/used.

Haven't understood a word of this so seems a bit unpleasant. Wish people would not say anything if not willing to say what it's all about.

winterwhite There was a previous poster who started several threads all asking questions - it was then discovered he was a young actor/writer - possibly doing research for his next story. Of course if he had been honest up front he would probably have got support.

Just occasionally GN gets new posters who are obviously trying to con or shock members - it rarely works and they just end up being the butt of jokes.

Just noticed that some more of these question threads have been posted. You can have too much of a good thing.

I only look at the title of a thread, but then I'm new and names mean nothing to me (yet).

winterwhite; Fully sympathise! There must be many GNetters who still have enough marbles to "plough" several furrows simultaneously, i.e. threads, rather than be stuck in a single rut! Variety is the spice of life, so it is said!
It's the cloak of anonymity and the innuendo that spoils some threads!
