I feel it's time we had some real guidelines about what is acceptable and what we musn't discuss without getting our knuckles rapped. As far as I can see- These are out- anti-Semitism, racism, right wing MSM so it's best to stick to -family breakdown, nice recipes, games and good reads.
Feel free to add your own NO-NOs or YESes!

Callistemon Mon 02-Dec-19 14:13:17

I could start a kitchen industry like the Middletons.

Smileless2012 Mon 02-Dec-19 14:11:19

Ooh I like that one Callistemon, that's perfect for Chewbacca which leaves the pink one as metchgrin.

trisher Mon 02-Dec-19 14:06:56

£17!!- does quick calculation, if a pair of socks costs a fiver........Anyway it's a good profit. Even more if you use old socks!
I loved Lamb Chop (the puppet)

Callistemon Mon 02-Dec-19 13:59:15

You don't come cheap you two, do you!

£17 on one site tchshock
I'll stick to making them from DH's old socks (washed, of course)

Callistemon Mon 02-Dec-19 13:57:00

Can't we have a blue or yellow one instead of the green?

Back to you Chewbacca

Smileless2012 Mon 02-Dec-19 13:53:59

Thankfully I'd just finished a late lunch when I read your post trishertchsmile.

Don't worry about getting involved in the discussion about the sock puppets; just remember I'm the pink onetchgrin.

Callistemon Mon 02-Dec-19 12:04:29

I have never been able to put tripe into my mouth

All this talk of Lamb Chop and tripe may make me become vegetarian

sodapop Mon 02-Dec-19 12:00:29

I remember Lamb Chop SueDonim Shari Lewis was very funny.

SueDonim Mon 02-Dec-19 11:53:23

Ooh, sock puppets! Anyone else remember Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop? I loved him. ❤️

trisher Mon 02-Dec-19 10:50:29

Or puppets? You could say who you think is the pink one and who the green, but that's a bit contentious and I'm staying out of it!

lemongrove Mon 02-Dec-19 10:33:13

There you are trisher.....you can continue with the tripe?

trisher Mon 02-Dec-19 10:32:57

Natasha thank you for your message but aren't you doing what isn't permitted? Making this a thread about a thread? Should I report your post? Oh and do you like tripe?

NatashaGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 02-Dec-19 10:24:50

There are no issues discussing this or any other difficult subjects - but when we reach a point where there are so many posts that have had to be deleted that the thread makes no sense and people are ignoring requests to keep within our guidelines, we have no option but to pull it.

trisher Mon 02-Dec-19 10:15:20

There's a lot about tripe on this thread. Smileless2012 it was awful, texture of rubber, taste of smelly milk and onions. My friend loved tripe, apparently there are different kinds. She liked black tripe (it wasn't black) raw with salt and vinegar. Ugggh (hope you have finished breakfast)

Chestnut Sun 01-Dec-19 23:32:36

In fact there are a lot of left wing posts aggressively telling you who to vote for, and if you don't (and vote for Brexit) then the country will fall apart at the seams. Some are quite threatening. I think that is also out of order.

Chestnut Sun 01-Dec-19 23:29:50

There was a thread where someone posted the whole Labour party manifesto and told people we should vote for them. I think that is out of order.

GranE Sun 01-Dec-19 23:14:19

GagaJo and trisher, you have my respect!

I would eat tripe too, but I just don't have the guts...! Boom, boom!

Smileless2012 Sun 01-Dec-19 23:09:15

So did my m.i.l. for my f.i.l., just the sight of it made me gag. You did well to eat some trisher thank goodness my m.i.l. never offered any to me.

I think I'd have been sick if I'd tried to eat it

trisher Sun 01-Dec-19 22:40:48

My MIL used to cook tripe and onions, the smell was awful but I had to eat some to show respect (we did in those days!). It was awful. I did eventually dare to tell er I didn't like it.

trisher Sun 01-Dec-19 22:37:56

Don't knowwhat you are talking about lemon this is not a thread about a thread, it is obviously a thread about puppets and other pastimes suitable for old ladies.

GagaJo Sun 01-Dec-19 21:32:47

Sodapop, Well I for one do not want to be nannied by HQ. We are adults with a lot of life experience, I'm sure we can cope with unpleasant or argumentative posts. If a thread is not to our liking then we don't need to be involved with it. Surely we don't want a bland, little old lady website. Just for the record I hate tripe smile

Couldn't agree more! I know there are people who I will violently disagree with and who will violently disagree with me. I'll say my opinion, which will be non-racist/discriminatory, because that is my determined world view and then retire. Because, frankly, I can't be arsed arguing about the nth degree of a topic when it's already been covered.

And for the record, I have EATEN tripe, in Catalonia. I pretended to myself I didn't know it was tripe to enable me to quash my gag reflex, and honestly, it was pretty tasteless, albeit covered in tomato and garlic. But it WAS very greasy so won't be repeating the experience.

lemongrove Sun 01-Dec-19 21:02:25

Honestly you two, what are you like! ?

Chewbacca Sun 01-Dec-19 20:54:59

Smileless; I'll fight you for it!
