As someone upthread pointed out there have been many downright nasty posts about Boris Johnson and other members of his government- far worse than anything said about Katie Price. KP does court publicity so can hardly complain. As for warning posters they should watch out for the papers getting wind of this forum - try reading the comments section of the online rags!!

I am entitled to say what I think about the low level of comments and it that hits a nerve then too bad. And I wouldn’t stoop to reading what you suggest.

But she was a glamour model in her teens, blaming KP for her influence on teenage girls is just more misogyny, she is part of the cycle bot the cause of it.

"The jugs" are not an expression I normally use, I was quoting the previous poster. However, KP herself has often talked about the many operations she has had on her breasts, I believe she even auctioned off the artificial implants at one time, thus she makes no secret of the fact that they have been in and out of her body so many times to be reduced and then made larger. My point was, which I made in a later post, and quite rightly was pointed out by Galaxy a digression from the original subject and probably should be a separate discussion, is that she parodies the female form, and as an influencer, which she is, presents a very fake idea of femininity. If you are someone who is persuaded by that ideal, and many young women are, then maybe as women we could question that.

I have already said, I don't think she had any reason to muck about with her appearance there was nothing wrong with it in the first place.

There are some harsh comments on here.

I think there is a conversation to be had on the pressure on women re plastic surgery etc and the ethics of those who carry it out. I dont think that was what was happening here though.

She was in her teens when she began modeling, I wonder how much of an informed choice she made back then. She didnt stand a chance in my view.

The thread about Katie Price's animals morphed into comments about her lifestyle and looks a while back. I think it should it should be considered nevertheless when a famous individual puts their whole life up for public scrutiny as I imagine KP still earns a living by allowing so much of hers to be public, and as such she could be deemed an influencer of sorts. There is absolutely nothing wrong with her natural looks, except increasingly over the years she has had an enormous amount of un necessary surgery which will attract not only comments on the foolishness of that, or depending on your point of view, how it has enhanced her looks. KP is of course just one of many who choose to undergo the knife. What I think is sad is that there is a constant focus today on women who are just there for no particular reason other than for what they look like, and what they look like often has no bearing on anything natural, Kardashians being prime examples of all that. Unfortunately that has lead to a whole generation of young women who aspire to be like them and just end up perpetually unhappy with their natural selves, imo never has there been so many false images of women and a generation who seek to emulate an ideal of false hair, nails, lips, breasts, buttocks etc etc.

Not all famous people want to make the public aware of every aspect of their life, they make their film, do what they do, and retire from the spotlight in between, Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz for example had a baby a few years ago, never talked about, don't even know his or her name. Unbelievably wise imo. Whilst the celebrity can make an informed choice as to how much the public can see or know about their lives, lets not kid ourselves, they are complicit in controlling and maintaining their profiles. Their children on the other hand are often propelled into the spotlight with them and who knows how damaging that may prove to be for them in the future.

I think we should leave her alone. Who are we to take the moral high ground. I am sure none of you are perfect and neither am I.
I agree with Tricia and Paddyanne on this, also do you all believe what you read in the press? Obviously you do, which tells me enjoy reading the bad and the gossip. I cannot believe some of you are being so nasty to this Mother of a disabled son. Also if she us going to Turkey that's her business.
I would also like to point out that some of you posters are not perfect role models either, otherwise we would not need a estrangement forum on Gransnet.

To be honest I would rather spend time with Katie Price than with women who talk about a womans looks in this way.

That is something I don't understand, unnecessary surgery, and umpteen times at that! Personally, I'd opt for smaller ones and now she's started on her lips. Again, another facet of her public persona which seems utterly bizarre. She looked perfectly fine before she started having un necessary work done to herself, I'm wondering if I'm alone in thinking that she and others who go down the same road ruin their looks and end up looking older than their actual age.

I remember it was mooted by someone on MN once, they thought that possibly she was on the autistic spectrum maybe. She certainly appears to become easily addicted to all manner of negative behaviour, particularly surgical enhancement. The outcome of continually driving herself along on a constant roller coaster of self perpetuating publicity with all the pitfalls and ramifications that go with that, doesn't appear to make her want to rein it in a tad though. Even though time and again repetition on similar themes tend to produce very disappointing outcomes. Possibly she's in denial she's getting older, her allure is not really there anymore, she may find bouncing back a lot harder as middle age approaches. In many ways I feel sorry for her, I think she has had a lot to deal with in raising Harvey who has a whole gamut of health problems which can't be easy, particularly with his latest hospitalisation.

Never really cared one way or another about her, but suddenly I look at the abuse thrown at her on this thread and feel sorry for her. She has lived an independent life. She sarted as a Page 3 girl but she has made money in all sorts of ways including writing(?) a number of books. She has 5 children and Harvey her eldest is severely disabled. She may not be a model of respectability and morality and I wouldn't want my GD earning her living as KP does, but she is a loving mother,and a strong independent woman and she seems to bounce back when she suffers setbacks.

She could suffocate if she was heading in a stiff breeze.

I was never much of a fan of Katie Price (Jordan back in the day when all she had going for her was the size of her jugs) you know the ones I mean.

Over the years I have some empathy for her particularly when I see her devotion to her son Harvey it must be heartbreaking for her to deal with all the ailments and his disability, as for his father what has he ever done for him? in fact he refused to even acknowledge him so big shame to him anyway. Harvey only went into a home because of his size and lack of mental awareness, he wanted to play with his siblings but how could that be allowed when Harvey is almost 18 stone and if he fell on them he could crush them.
He is not living in the home all the time.

I read that the pet german shepherd dog was run over by a delivery man going to her property and though I saw that her young daughters dog had died in an accident I did not read it.
So maybe she has a chaotic lifestyle (in fact I hear she is bankrupt.) I still rate her love and care of her children and it is obvious that Harvey loves and adores her.

I have never liked her and never will.

A bit harsh Orangerose; KPs children seem to be happy and well cared for from what I've seen of them. And the mutual love between KP and her son Harvey is undeniable.
