Much though I find this abhorrent, it is preferable to young healthy girls opting to have double mastectomies. Scottish doctors have sent at least 51 girls/young women to England to have this operation done within the last few years. I have no figures for English or Welsh referrals.
How many of these young women might have accepted they were lesbians or even heterosexual if they had been given time to mature and reflect.
There is a growing chain of thought that exposure to porn is/can be involved in this. Young girls seeing porn and how abjectly the women in heterosexual porn are treated then think “I don’t want to be a woman if that’s what it involves”.
When I first heard this theory I was sceptical but as more and more trans boys and men de-transition, porn and how it portrays women is mentioned by virtually all of them.
Re. Lush and it’s partners; although Stonewall (and perhaps Mermaids) is not mentioned, I’m very confident they will be involved in this.

I wouldn't want a child of mine being given heels to wear for hours every day, by an organisation I had never heard of, by people I'd never met.

I’ve never heard of this, Australia tends to be a bit behind some of theses ‘trends’. In this case I am glad. Reminds me of the stays and liberty bodices they had way back when, albeit with a different aim ( or perhaps not ?)

People have mentioned the potential damage they can do. This is reduced by using a proper made for purpose binder rather than a home made one. Also, the same sorts of damage are caused by badly fitting bras.

Yes, I agree, safeguarding is of paramount importance, more important than any woke ideas and way above any profits Lush might think they can make from jumping on this particular bandwagon.

Adults can choose to be whatever they want to be.

Also beyond words that when other cultures do it that's horrific but when western countries do it that's fine.

Any company selling anything to minors with the enticement that their parents will be unaware of their purchases, especially something that could cause long term damage, should be sunk without a trace.

Sexual grooming of children, which is what this amounts to, is an offence.
Sharing secrets from parents, exploitation, sympathy to perceived needs etc are all signals.
