Hi, I am having trouble sleeping after recently losing both of my elderly parents in quick succession ?.
Has anyone tried these weighted blankets? Do they work?

My daughter had one at Christmas. I was surprised how heavy it is. Too heavy for me, though I do like a fair bit of weight. We have two single duvets, with a king sized heavy bedspread on top, but this was much heavier.

It doesn't feel too heavy once it's spread all over you.

Well, it still took me more than two hours to actually get to sleep but once asleep I did sleep through.Early days yet and I do think the blanket was very expensive but hopefully it will prove it’s worth…?

After first reading this post I decided to give one a try.
Probably a bit heavier than I need and double size. Quite amused that the Amazon box it came in had been opened- probably someone thought with that weight it must be worth stealing!!
I actually love it -it has stopped me tossing and turning during the night and although I wake up to use the loo as much I do go back to sleep more quickly! It does sometimes feel like I’m being held down but I would highly recommend it.

I bought one for my SIL who has fibromyalgia, he says it’s greatly improved his sleep.

My daughter has autism and we have found these pretty good. I have a funny story though, they accidentally delivered to a neighbour and I went round to fetch my parcel and she stood there talking to me and i thought bloody hell, I'm sweating, this is bloody heavy but carried on talking and started to feel a achy grin and when I got home realised I wasn't terribly unfit, it was just the weighted blankets!

Have had it on my bed for three nights now, got a sheet in between because otherwise I would never be able to change the cover! Still taking me over an hour to get off to sleep. BUT once asleep I am sleeping right through! ???????????? So I would say definitely a good investment

Great news Shinamae. Very pleased to hear that.

just taken delivery of 2 kuddly blankets hoping they will help my anxiety-prone DD to get a better night's sleep - got the 2 blankets for 89£ so thought I'd give them a try. if not can be returned within 30 days - fingers crossed! Now where is that sheet to put underneath...

I was given one for Christmas. Huge improvement in my sleeping I’d recommend. I still can’t believe when I wake up that I’ve slept all night.

Over a week now and I have to say it has really improved the quality and quantity of my sleep ?

Sparklefizz Tue 11-Jan-22 11:43:17

I'm really pleased to read that Shinamae as I am always raving about mine! smile

And it’s just getting better and better. I slept right through last night, didn’t get up once even to go to the toilet, absolutely amazing….?
