Ones you really, really don want.

I don’t want to take two parcels to the local Hermes drop off. Rude staff there
Need to clear the garden a bit. It’s cold and I don’t like gardening which is why I have pots
Doing dinner for later
General vac round but don’t mind that so much!

All trivial I know,
Any one else?

Is it tomorrow yet?!!

Callistemon21 Wed 02-Feb-22 17:17:35

Not a chore but the day started with a dental appointment
grin nice and shiny now

merlotgran Wed 02-Feb-22 12:15:22

An engineer has just reconnected broadband which has cut out 25 times since Sunday!

Whoop whoop! Sod the decorating. I’m going to spend the afternoon finishing binge watching Hidden Assets. ?

Kali2 Wed 02-Feb-22 12:14:09

Got to go shopping, that is bad enough. Then teach- and then - basta!

BlueBalou Wed 02-Feb-22 12:11:23

Domani for heaven’s sake! ?

BlueBalou Wed 02-Feb-22 12:09:13

Domain indeed Greyduster
I simply don’t have any oomph today ☹️ DDog has been walked, I’ve cleaned through and put on some washing but now ....zilch, nada. I have ground to a halt!

Greyduster Wed 02-Feb-22 11:11:32

Well the ironing has not caught up with the laundry yet, and there’s a large pile of dead leaves that the wind has kindly left piled up by the front door, but I feel under the weather today so I can’t be bothered with any of it. Domani!

I quite miss my cobwebs . My new home is pristine and stays that way!

Not sure what I’ve done to deserve it because I hate housework.

I really don’t want to be stuck indoors painting the legs of the coffee table but I’m on the home run with the decorating so I must stop putting off the last fiddly diddly jobs.

LuckyFour Wed 02-Feb-22 10:27:32

Don't talk to me about cobwebs, our old cottage is the spiders' headquarters, and this is cobweb world!

annodomini Tue 01-Feb-22 19:50:25

Having won the battle of the duvet, I proceeded to clear and clean the cupboards under the sink! And not before time!

Oofy Tue 01-Feb-22 19:38:01

In the absence of a bannister, I just lay the duvet cover inside out on the bed, put the duvet on top of it and grab its top corners through the inside out cover underneath. Then shrug the cover the right way out over it. Seems to work

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Feb-22 18:18:40

Clean around the base and the back of the toilets, 3 of them, no problem cleaning the bowls, but the other parts are fiddly and it’s probably only me that notices.

PS our enterprising local Hermes lady has a Facebook page, very helpful.

I really need to clean the kitchen cupboards, inside and out but I can't be bothered. Kneeling is out of the question too so it's going to involve a lot of hunching over. Maybe I'll wait til spring.

This chore has been hanging over me like a carrion crow for months - since moving house we haven’t been able to fully unpack, there are stacks of boxes and bin liners in various rooms, which get moved as we do the decorating, so now I have no idea what is where. I now have duplicates of so many things I don’t know what to do with them, so they’re shoved into a cupboard until another day. This morning I found 4 bottles of white vinegar (used to make my own cleaning fluid), I don’t do that much cleaning. I can understand those folk who end up totally surrounded by junk, there comes a point when you don’t know where to start.

Theoddbird Tue 01-Feb-22 17:35:59

I live on a narrow boat and once a week I have to empty the toilet cassette (it is a box under the toilet pan). Tuesday is usually when I do it. I have to put it on my wagon and pull the ten minute walk to my car to take to disposal point. Contents are then poured into disposal point. I then rinse well and disinfect. I have to do it...can't be left...hahaha

Why don’t you use the Hermes collect service? Not a lot extra and saves you driving/parking/rude staff etc. I just leave my things tucked in by the side of my door and the courier always takes them on the day I have booked.

they don't offer the service everywhere or for certain things, I'm not sure why. We have had quite a few returns we have had to go to a collection point for

Cleaning the wooden venetian blinds in 5 rooms.

There is a knack for putting on duvet covers. It involves laundering the cover inside out and then reaching inside to the distant corners and grabbing the relevant corners of the duvet and pulling it thru. Doing this over a banister helps too. Former chambermaid here!

I used to use the 'over the banisters' trick for this too - but now we have moved to a bungalow!

nipsmum Tue 01-Feb-22 16:37:38

I never want to do cleaning anytime. Sometimes I make the effort but certainly not every day. I would rather bake cook walk the dogs or knit. Housework is the most soul destroying thing I can think off. I hate routine .

Bijou Tue 01-Feb-22 16:20:16

I wish I could do my chores and especially the gardening. I hate having to sit and watch other people do it.

queenofsaanich69 Tue 01-Feb-22 15:54:34

Hate cleaning the shower, don’t mind other jobs

There are lots of chores I need to do today ... but we're in the middle of having a new kitchen installed, and I can't go in there!

Our living room, hall and front room are stuffed with food, plates, clutter from the kitchen, and everything is covered in dust. And yesterday we had no electric.

I'm sat in the middle of it all, and our dog has enjoyed two walks today already. He might be getting a third!

DH and I were delighted to get a small German pension each, from when we worked there nearly 50 years ago.

Not so delighted now, when I’m looking at various virtually incomprehensible forms to complete from HMRC and the German authorities. It was bad enough ploughing through the 30 page letter in German that accompanied the good news. My brain hurts.

Actually, I think the bathroom could do with a good clean. grin

Kim19 Tue 01-Feb-22 14:24:11

The high winds have kindly (?!) piled the leaves up in one area of my garden. However, it is so cold and windy that I can't find what it takes to go out and do the needful. YET.........
